And yes, David and I have been helping as best we could behind the scenes.
"Torpedo los!"

CBS NEWS UNCOVERS GUNRUNNING SCANDAL WITHIN THE ATF
Agency Secretly Endorsed Practice of Letting Guns "Walk"; ATF Agent to CBS News: "God Only Knows How Many Guns Were Used to Kill People"
Tonight on the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH KATIE COURIC (6:30 PM, ET), CBS News Investigative Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports on a major scandal building within the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), one of America's top law enforcement agencies. CBS News uncovered evidence which supports the allegation that the agency that is supposed to stop border gunrunning to Mexico's drug cartels actually participated in letting it happen. Attkisson reports that these guns have turned up at the scenes of violent crimes, including the murder of a U.S. border patrol officer in Arizona.
CBS News reveals that "Project Gunrunner," an ATF operation that aims to stop the flow of weapons from the U.S. to Mexican drug cartels, has allegedly facilitated the delivery of thousands of guns into the hands of criminals. Often bought with cash, and sometimes brought in paper bags, sources tell CBS News that several gun shops wanted to stop the questionable sales, but were encouraged to continue selling by the ATF, so that they could continue gathering intelligence and see where the weapons ended up. This dangerous tactic is referred to as letting the guns "walk."
Veteran ATF agents called this strategy "insane" and "appalling," with one, speaking under a condition of anonymity, telling CBS News, "We were fully aware the guns would probably be moved across the border to drug cartels where they could be used to kill." CBS News has been told that at least 11 ATF agents and senior managers voiced fierce opposition to the strategy.
Sharyl Attkisson's full report, including a potential link between "Project Gunrunner" and the murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, broadcasts tonight on the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH KATIE COURIC.

It figures. They've been sitting on it until FOX showed interest.
Wonder if the story has "legs" enough now for FOX. I honestly expected better of them and I was WRONG!
This of course assumes that CBS actually does the story and actually presents FACTUAL information.
So, two people mean 200 percent boost. That should do them good for a day or two. But its for a good cause.

This just in...
CBS picks up a story Mike Vanderboegh and David Codrea broke over 2 MONTHS ago.
Welcome to the party pal!
Anyway, Great Job Mike!

Yeah, you think they'll even mention you?
Anyway, bumped: http://freedomguide.blogspot.com/2011/02/sipsey-street-cbs-to-take-up-gunwalker.html
God bless you Mike, now it gets interesting.
Popcorn anyone?
"Uncovers".
I do not think that means what you think it means, Fezzini. Must be Newspeak for being forced to report on something other people have been rubbing their noses in for two freaking months, after their competitor started covering it.
After Fox News' Megan Kelly busted Larry Pratt's balls re: Gunwalker, ol' Katie Couric and CBS may step up a notch in my book. Let's hope.

Whoda thunk?!? The Lame Stream Media deigning to cover this. And it makes the ATF - and by extension the Obama Administration - look bad.
I'm with Anon @ 1:38PM. Gonna watch CBS to see if they 1) actually CARRY the story and 2) manage to include any FACTS.

Just watched the CBS story. Fantastic job guys. Keep up the pressure.
Way to go there,"Other Sources!"
Just watched it. Aside from continuing the myth that bolt action and semi auto guns from US shops are 'the guns of choice', it wasn't bad.
After showing solid proof that ATF bosses were blatantly 'walking' guns across the border, CBS quoted an official DOJ statement that ATF never knowingly allowed guns to be sold to smugglers. Mr. Holder, I think a major TV network just publically called you a liar.
They also said that this had the potential to be bigger than Ruby Ridge or Waco.
I watched it, and I am STUNNED. An actual hard hitting news story on cBS - with comments from inside the bureau I had not heard before.
I just wish they would give credit where it's due.
Mike, you and David are doing the Lord's work on this - thanx again,

Watched Katie. Normally don't for blood pressure reasons. For once she wasn't her normal condescending bi**H self, and they seemed accurate.

Must admit...was really disappointed in Megyn Kelly the other day; she's usually one pretty good. On the other hand, Couric gained a few points...hadn't expected that from her. Seems the world is upside down, dogs sleeping with cats, and all that. Of course...this is not news to us on this site. Kudos, Mike, for your (and David's) efforts on this these past several months.
Missed it - will look for links to vids!
This part from the post just kills me:
"...CBS News uncovered evidence which supports the allegation..."
You DID, huh?
I guess "I uncovered" now means
"followed links in at least one of the thousands of e-mails that have been sent to me, trying to get me to cover this, where upon the linked site I found .pdf scans of documents already chased down by others."
Heck - if THAT is the definition, then I "uncovered" this thing WEEKS before they did!
Come to think of it, I "uncovered" nude pics of dozens of famous females, and countless other facts!
Heck - I "uncovered" the (allegedly) "true" story of the Kennedy Assassination!
By this definition, I'm REALLY REALLY **GOOD** at "uncovering" stuff -- mebbe I could get a job there??!!
Outstanding work on yours and David's part Mike! I've been following the story since your first post and spreading the word to my buddies (although nobody showed much interest). I know it must have been extremely frustrating getting to this point, but it sure as hell was worth the effort wasn't it!! All of us III appreciate yours and Davids work. God bless you guys and the agents who were willing to stick their necks out on this. And my condolences to agent Terrys family. Please take comfort knowing that his death was not in vain.
