"Damn the Gunwalker Scandal! Full speed ahead!" Admiral "Old Bloody Hands" Cummings to demand more gun control today. Puppet Theater for children.

"Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!" Admiral David Farragut at the battle of Mobile Bay, 5 August 1864.

Katie Pavlich: "Democrats to Introduce Gun Control Legislation Tomorrow."

Democrat Representatives Maloney, Cummings and McCarthy, all members of the Minority on the House Oversight Committee chaired by Republican Congressman Issa, plan to hold a press conference tomorrow to announce new gun control anti-gun trafficking legislation in light of Operation Fast and Furious. The "Stop Gun Trafficking and Strengthen Law Enforcement Act," is designed to "keep high powered firearms out of the hands of dangerous criminals, including Mexican drug cartels."

U.S. Representatives Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), Elijah E. Cummings (D-MD), ranking member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) will join other members and a leading law enforcement organization for an event Friday, July 15th, 11:00 a.m. at the House Triangle to introduce the “Stop Gun Trafficking and Strengthen Law Enforcement Act,” which establishes a dedicated firearms trafficking statute to empower law enforcement to keep high-powered firearms out of the hands of dangerous criminals, including Mexican drug cartels.

"Damn the Gunwalker Scandal! Full speed ahead!" Old Bloody Hands Cummings, 15 July 2011.

So let me get this straight, democrats want to punish law abiding Americans and impede on Second Amendment rights with new legislation "to prevent gun trafficking to Mexico," however, aren't willing to focus on the ATF and DOJ's role in deliberately putting high powered firearms into the hands of criminals including Mexican drug cartels? It doesn't matter how many gun control laws we have on the books if the federal government is willing to break them to push a political agenda, however, this is not surprising.

Second email from Chait to Newell after the F&F dog-and-pony show in January. It is always about the politics.

Pavlich continues:

The announcement of new legislation comes just a day after Townhall obtained emails showing Operation Fast and Furious was designed to promote gun control and four days after the DOJ Deputy Attorney General James Cole, who is under investigation for his involvement in the scandal, released new reporting requirements for multiple sales of certain semi-automatic rifles.

So "Old Bloody Hands," who could have short-circuited the murderous Gunwalker debacle if he had but held long-overdue oversight hearings into ATF management malpractices when HE ran the committee, cynically and hypocritically demands more power and money for the same agency that, pursuant to orders from the leading figures in the Obama administration, is the largest gun smuggling facilitator to the southern hemisphere in history?

The New York Times, of course, predictably agrees.

We mustn't get too caught up in all of this puppet theater for credulous children. As the Gunwalker Scandal revelations continue to cascade out into the public eye, such delusional adventures into collectivist alternate reality will begin to look more and more like what they are -- the pathetic last gasps of a self-discredited bunch of power-mad bunkum artists screaming "Pay no attention to the Scandal behind the curtain!"

John Locke said: "The people cannot delegate to government the power to do anything which would be unlawful for them to do themselves. ... whenever the Legislators endeavor to take away, and destroy the Property of the People, or to reduce them to Slavery under Arbitrary Power, they put themselves into a state of War with the People, who are thereupon absolved from any farther Obedience, and are left to the common Refuge, which God hath provided for all Men, against Force and Violence. Whensoever therefore the Legislative shall transgress this fundamental Rule of Society, and either by Ambition, Fear, Folly or Corruption, endeavor to grasp themselves, or put into the hands of any other an Absolute Power over the Lives, Liberties, and Estates of the People; By this breach of Trust they forfeit the Power the People had put into their hands, for quite contrary ends, and it devolves to the People, who have a Right to resume their original Liberty."

"Any single man must judge for himself whether circumstances warrant obedience or resistance to the commands of the civil magistrate; we are all qualified, entitled, and morally obliged to evaluate the conduct of our rulers. This political judgment, moreover, is not simply or primarily a right, but like self-preservation, a duty to God. As such it is a judgment that men cannot part with according to the God of Nature. It is the first and foremost of our inalienable rights without which we can preserve no other."

Sorry, not budging an inch.

Some comments on the NYT piece:
"Straw buyers have been easily purchasing thousands of fast-firing weapons on the American side to supply the cartels"
Factual as printed but misleading. The only reason the purchases were easy was because the ATF MADE it so!

"These guns have no legitimate place in civilian life"
Now they begin to show their true colors. AND the statement is entirely true. If we had no reason ever to fear government then war weapons in civilian hands WOULD, indeed be unnecessary. But if that were the case then there would be no need for government in the first place.

"hundreds of guns disappeared into Mexico"
They did - but only by design of ATF and DOJ higher ups.

"Controls also are needed over sellers at gun shows who, unlike gun shops, are unregulated in peddling war weaponry."So now we get down to regulating private ownership of guns by making it illegal for a private citizen to sell a gun.

The above are excellent examples of lying by telling the truth. (a process I am trying to teach my Grandson about) You don't have to tell falsehoods to lie. You just have to leave out enough to ensure you listener gets an absolutely false impression.

Cannot be long now.

Yet another lying Marxist usurper opening his big fat Marxist mouth. All of them lie so well. Or, is it that very few point their lies out to the public and so they are emboldened to lies even more?

It matters not whether you win or lose,
It's where you place the blame.

Same play book as Katrina in Nawlins or our current federal budget fiasco.

The Democratic machine from the governor all the way down to the parish president had control of federal funds that could have been used to upgrade the levees at any time in the previous 40 years but pissed it away on pet projects. But when the levees collapsed it was W's fault.

The Democrats had control of congress and the whitehouse for years yet didn't even try to pass a budget for fiscal 2010 because they knew they would get creamed in the elections. They got creamed anyway but that's kinda beside the point. Now they're all pointing fingers at the House leadership and (surprise, surprise) at W.

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that they haven't tried to pin Gunwalker on W. But the fat lady ain't sung on that one yet.

It's funny how the answer to government abuse is always more government power.

How about "no?" Can we go with "no?" Is "no" good? 'Cause I'm gonna go with "no."

I remember my father saying, "The best defense is a good offense." He had played football in high school and played handball up through his 60's before his eyesight failed.

So, stay on the offense and don't get distracted by their tactics.

Thanks Mike and Dave.

Cummings is just practicing the time-honored tactics as outlined by Saul Alinsky. It's not lying if THEY do it. Besides, they have only the best of intentions and it's for the children.

Now excuse me while I run and see how many rounds MY children have loaded.
