Glenn Reynolds rightfully calls her on it. Personally, I want to ask Judy what she was thinking -- or, as Glenn suggests, was it the editor who was unthinking? I'll let you know what she says. I have no time to comment on it today myself. Later.
Glenn is correct as far as he goes, but most State Guards are only paramilitary units. In the case of Texas, the TXSG is a civil defense force - you don't see infantry BNs, or any other organization capable of border defense or a combat capability.
They had to raise hell, just to let the state allow the QRF to bring their ARs with them.
