Question of the Day: Would You Send a Gun to Defend a British Home?

“As the broadcast was momentarily interrupted by applause, Winston Churchill turned sadly and angrily away from the mike and said: ‘But I do not know what we shall fight them with,’” Edwards related.

NOPE - they would never get to the folks that truly need them - like farmer Martin so why should I waste a perfectly usable firearm when I might need it myself? Under current (notso)Great Britain, it would even be useless to send a knife over........

Land of the hopless boring
Smotherer of the free
How shall we escape thee
We who yearn for liberty

my great-grandfather gave his prized Springfield that he carried in WW1, and my great-grandfather gave 3 Mausers he captured while with the Roughriders in Cuba. they signed paperwork that guaranteed the return of the rifles upon cessation of hostilities. they were never returned.

my grandfather had the paperwork framed and hung on the wall. "never trust an Englishman's word. EVER. a Scot or an Irishman, maybe, if he's not drunk. but never an Englishman."

You are kidding, right?

No. Why would you send a weapon to a enemy of your beliefs?

Not on a good day.

At this point, what with their being over-run with jihadis and having their private weapons melted and beaten into (plow-sheers?) or bicycle parts, they would better serve the world as an example of what NOT to do.

I'd send one or two. I'd send each with a little note. "Once you stop whatever threat to your country that there is, turn this on your govt. masters, and eliminate THEM. If you don't, they'll eliminate you, your children, your grandchildren, and the gun as well. LIVE FREE OR DIE!" Time for all true Englishmen and Women to take their freedom, and their country, BACK.

What would I be called if I sent a rifle to the Irish?

I'm 82 and remember the school telling us to ask our parents to do this and my dad said "no way". Glad he did

Yes and No.
I would send tools, instructions and possibly some harder to make parts for simple arms. Think "four winds shotgun", SWD Terminator type shotgun, or "Luty BSP type SMG" maybe make a few and send those.
But given what happened to what was sent last time they are not getting a quality built firearm from my family again.

I have an old beat up M44 that I've used and abused. And it returns the favor by kicking like a mule. I'd be glad to send that. But they have to provide their own ammo (7.62x54R).

Not any more. They made their beds; may they have joy of the experience while it lasts.

ooops that should have been my great-grandfather with the Springfield, and his father (my great-great grandfather) with the mausers. sorry.

my grandfather was actually in the Philippines as an engineer with the army on loan from GE when this all happened. we think he had something to do with the listening posts scanning japapnese military broadcasts, but he would never say.

Dad's comment on something similar...
"What's the difference between an Englishman and a German?"
A shrug of my shoulders.
Dad's response: "An American soldier with a gun."

NO FUCKING WAY! IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH?

We sent them guns already. Let them use the first lot. For that matter, let them use their own guns. Any who were careless enough to be disarmed can suffer.

I heard just this week that 70% of Brits would not set foot in a church today for any reason. So my answer is "NO."
