Pentagon Says ‘No Guns’ for Recruiters: Hide Behind Partitions Instead

“The Pentagon has decided against arming recruiters in the wake of the Chattanooga terror attack that killed five soldiers,” Investor’s Business Daily reports. “Instead of guns, officers will get ‘desk partitions.’” Marine Corps Commanding General Mark Brilakis says the decision was made because educators, students and parents might not be “comfortable” seeing armed recruiters. As for when military personnel are in their storefront offices, Brilakis says it might also offend the sensibilities of mall shoppers.

I got it, maybe if they just were to issue us all some partitions we won't have to worry about the Iran nuke deal either!

I'm sure that would be just as effective, don't ya know!

"[T]he military “leadership” would rather see its personnel dead than armed, at least when not deployed in combat."

Has anyone been paying attention to the ROE they impose on combat troops these days? Cause I don't believe that final caveat was really warranted.

Still, I can understand why the current "military leadership" would rather focus their recruiting efforts on people who are absolutely shocked at the sight of armed members of the armed forces. Nobody with the least clue about arms or combat is likely to 'follow' them anywhere, particularly when being led from behind.

If Americans are "uncomfortable" with armed Marines, America is done!

Our military's brief is to break things and kill people. If someone is "uncomfortable" around people who do this WTF are they doing there ? !!!

I suppose their 'partitions' are bullet resistant. Likely...they are not. Liberals have infiltrated every single government agency. They need to be purged when we win the next election.

I must be old. I remember when we used to refer to the military as the "Armed Forces."

If there was any question if the progressives are in charge of the military it's gone now. So the reason for the STUPID rule is someone may feel uncomfortable???

The clock is ticking........ It's 11:57.... tick, tick ,tick!

God help the USA!

Agents of the State, with less fidelity to the Constitution, SWAT, cops, ATF, are allowed to be armed to the point of being able to assault a city but Marines cannot be trusted with firearms at recruiting stations.

If a Marine General is unwilling to actually behave like a Marine, that's a clear sign our armed forces are in serious trouble.

If the recruiters are smart, they will be carrying concealed anyway.

Unfortunately, they would most likely faces harsh discipline under the UCMJ. Serious enough charges leading to a dishonorable discharge will scar them for life. I believe a dishonorable discharge is like a felony conviction, not sure if such a service member loses their 2nd Amendment Rights in that case.

I on the other hand, don't give a stinkin' shit what my employer says, I carry at work most of the time. I would instantly lose my job if they found out. The only way that would happen is if I had to use my firearm at work, but at least I would have a chance to be alive to tell the tale.

As information- If you received less than an Honorable Discharge, you can not get a
Concealed Carry Permit in NC. When you apply for one, if you have a DD 214, the
Sheriff's Office gets a copy of it.

Brilakis, where the hell did your balls go? You obviously have none.

I'm damned near ready to never again admit to serving in the USMC.
