T.H.: It's a stupid article written to/for stupid sheeple.
Written with about none of the talent of a real journalist, most likely a synopsis of the wire story that the "news" goes gaga copy pasta all over the country.
Enough of that rant.

I wonder if right before he shouted "Hey ya'll, watch this"?

Also, regardless of whether fireworks or a heavy weapon, wtf was it he was horsing with?

I gotta get me a few of those.

Rule #1 of home pyrotechnics: NEVER lean over to light your stuff.

Rule #2: Never point it at anything you are not willing to destroy.

Mortars are a common firework, consisting of a small black powder charge under a round cardboard "star" or shell. They usually come packed with a cardboard tube to launch them from and have a fuse long enough to reach outside the tube when the shell is dropped to the bottom. Bore diameter is under two inches if I recall correctly. Tube length is around 12 inches.
This moron was obviously trying to "improve" on a common pyrotechnic and ended up losing more than an eye.

The Wapo... Organ of the would be socialist state. Architect of the demise of freedom. Among others.

There is purpose in everything they do and everything they write and their goals are not American nor bound to freedom.
