McChrystal, the Obamanoids and turning Niemoller's dictum on its head.

"First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me."
— Pastor Martin Niemoller, German Pastor, 1945.

Subject: Where Does McChrystal Go Now?

I am sure there are others like McChrystal, and some of them will be ejected right along with him.

What do you all think about trying to get that kind of talent on our team in the near future?

My response:

The fact that McChrystal (who is venerated by the SpecOps guys) is now on the public outs with the Administration is VERY much of a "goodness thing," as John Ringo would say. The more Obama and his minions act and speak against McChrystal, the better it is. This will come back to haunt the regime, according to my sources, at least politically.

It turns the Niemoller quote on its head:

"First, I pissed off the Constitutionalists, but I had plenty of friends and my poll numbers were through the roof, so I didn't mind. Then, I pissed off the Christians, and I had plenty of friends, so I didn't mind. Then I pissed off the Jews about Israel, and I had plenty of other friends, so I didn't mind. Then I pissed off the free marketers, the property rights advocates and Jon Voight, but I still had plenty of friends, so I still didn't mind. (Besides, I thought, Jon Voight can't get a job in Hollywood any more, so what use is he?) Then I pissed off the entire military over 'Don't ask, don't tell,' and finally the special operators about McChrystal, but I still didn't mind because I thought I still had enough friends. Then I looked around, and I realized that while I still had plenty of friends, none of them had guns, and all the guns in the room were pointing in my direction. THAT I minded. Of course, The ATF still obeyed me, but what use are they, the incompetent dicks?"

Our team? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I've seen nothing that suggests that McChrystal is anything other than a politician in fatigues, and the fact that he may be on the outs with the current administration in no way indicates that he would be friendly to this movement.

This is a man who continues to push the thoroughly discredited "win hearts and minds" ideology in Afghanistan, and Americans are dying because of it.

And Special Ops guys always love having one of their own in the chambers of power, especially when he's signing off on their expense reports. McChrystal has the tabs and the pretty wings but he has seen no combat himself.

Remember our human histories: Purging the officer corps always preceded *what,* again?

One failed general tendering his resignation is just one, but if it starts the trend for loyalty tests, we're in heap big doo-doo.

Word of caution, McChrystal voted for obama. What does he really believe?

McChrystal's decision to change his miltary behavior so abruptly is treated by some as imponderable. His actions and those of his staff--almost surely career ending--are widely seen as inexplicable.

I think there is a rational explanation. We all know of the Oath Keepers and their assiduous evangelizing in search of new members whose sole interest lies in lawful government under our constitution.

I believe OK have deeply penetrated the U.S. armed forces at every rank and grade and that McChrystal has taken the oath not to obey orders that conflict with the Constitution. There would be every reason for him to alter his behavior and attitudes immediately.

Calling your attention to the LTC medical officer who refused to deploy with his unit to the war zone. He disputed the order because in his view Obama was not constitutionally eligible to be president and CINC. Thus, for him to obey the order would have been a violation of his oath. Don't think that the OKs have failed to penetrate every level of the armed forces.

Here's the text of the Nazi Fuhrer oath taken by every member of the armed forces. The language of the officers' oath and the elisted differed somewhat.

"I swear by God this sacred oath: I will render unconditional obedience to Adolf Hitler, the Führer of the German Reich and people, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and will be ready as a brave soldier to risk my life at any time for this oath."

That appears to me the end that Obama seeks.

15 years ago, thinking that the Gov't and the guy in the White house were a buncha insane loons?

I never imagined this...

Casus Belli, anyone?

(Oh, the Feds are also blocking any and all efforts to contain the oil blasting out of the Gulf. That's comforting.)

UCMJ Article 88—Contempt toward officials

“Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

Gentlemen enlighten me. What is with the adoration of McChrystal? He sucked up to Obama to get his appointment. He showed no common sense in blathering to Rolling Stone. He showed no sense of duty to commander in chief and civilian command - read as THE CONSTITUTION. He is losing in Afghanistan. The second largest city is still controlled by the Taliban and his practice battle was to get ready to retake it was not a rousing success. Special ops may love him, but they don't win wars and the boots on the ground, who do win wars, are grumbling about his rules of engagement. So who the **** would want him?

suek said...

Amusing, that.

However what if the results are that only brown nosers are selected for General officership? Then what you have is a compliant military who will do exactly what they're told to do. And the guns will be pointed at _us_.

Stalin used to enjoy purging his generals as well.

Everyone, keep in mind that this is a TREND: whatever reason, the talent is leaving or being shoved out of the US military. I don't know about McChrystal, who he is, but given US policy restraints in Afghanistan not even Sun Tzu could win that war. If he tried he'd be court martialed!

He VOTED FOR OBAMA AND NOW HE TALKS HIMSELF OUT OF A JOB. Get the hint...

Now here is an area where Stalin had it right. He executed pretty much all the competent general officers so they could not lead a coup against him. Of course it came back to bite him in the ass when the Germans invaded but that's another story.

If His most August and Divine Divinity Barak the First keeps pissing off (and ON) enough of the right people in the Armed Forces, he will increase the likelihood that a majority of armed forces members will choose to uphold their oaths to the constitution.

BHO may just be the best hope we have for the ultimate success of the revolution.

McChrystal VOTED FOR OBAMA!

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love nothing better than to read one morning (or hear on a "cut-in" news report) that Obama had had a visit from a ghost and was no longer a threat to America or anyone/thing else.

But, ...?????????????

Anonymous said...

I have to say that I read nothing contemptuous that McChrystal said. I do remember clearly both Obama and Biden using contemptuous language towards the military and specific generals. While it is clearly unwise to let your boss hear you express your honest opinion it is not criminal. Obama could have fired him because because he wasn't black enough or left handed or for any reason, that is his legal right. I think the unsaid and un-dealt with issue is the policy that is killing our soldiers. Perhaps The generals need to raise their voice.

Hee, you're a Ringo fan? That is... so cool. :D

Tangalor, I nominate that for the thread-winner.

Y'all consider that McChrystal came to his senses and decided to pull a self
sacrifice fer the greater good?

Just a theory, I don't know the man.
But if it's proven to be true down the road a piece, what a frikkin' brilliant maneuver! Sun Tzu? LOL, he'd love it!

Ya don't get ta be that high in the brass by just kissing ass...

As I heard it, the RS stringer got his (very PC) interview but was grounded due to the Iceland volcano. With nothing else to be done with him, they let him stay. He overheard enough to write a *VERY* juicy article - probably a career-maker for him.

McCrystal? Mixed feelings here, boss!

On the one hand, he DOES claim to have voted for him -- on the other we have this.

FACT: *NOBODY* but him knows who he really voted for, and there's advantage to saying "Hey - I voted for the guy, but NOW.....
!!!!!???!!"

Then again, maybe MC believed the "I'll get us out of these senseless wars ASAP" lies and thought it was the best thing for his soldiers -- to stop them dying for a no-win cause..

As to NOW, well... One thing the man is known for is his ability to toe the line, and keep his mouth shut. That he DIDN'T here has to have *SOME* reason behind it.

But what?

As to those citing the "birther" guy refusing to deploy - that's no proof of OK penetration - it's proof of *birther* penetration. His stated rationale was essentially "if he's not the legitimate CinC I could be criminally liable for all sorts of stuff, so I ain't going 'til I see proof."

Given all the noise previously made about prosecuting soldiers for following their orders in re: waterboarding, etc -- I can't blame him.

So much to consider, too many facets and even more possibles...

Consider that this is a man that is highly trained and skilled in PSYOPS, I presume, and is a counterinsurgency expert. He is no fool and knows exactly what he is doing. He reveiwed the article before it was published, so he knew what it said. I hear that he is known for being in the field with his troops--no idea if that is true or not.

This is deliberate. Maybe he's just tired and wanted to retire, or he didn't want to be left holding the bag for Obama's lost Afghan war, or maybe he sees what is happening in the USA (we do have an armed invasion taking place in AZ, and the admin refuses to do anything about it, after all) and has something else in mind. I guess we'll find out.

BTW, McChrystal SAYS he voted for Obama, but no one really knows.

I think I got Mike started on Ringo when I sent him a copy of "The Last Centurion" which is full of insights for the threeper folks.
Ringo's latest: "Live Free or Die" ain't half bad either, though less applicable to current situations.
