Welcome to Crisis City, where we militarize the police one uniformed thug at a time.

Inside Crisis City, a site that simulates almost any catastrophe
Pruitt said then-governor Kathleen Sebelius and then-Kansas adjutant general Tod Bunting were instrumental in getting the mock city up and running as a way to boost the state’s ability to respond to disasters, emergencies or threats of terrorism.
The training facility is about a three hour drive west of Kansas City and sits on 45 acres of land owned by the Air Force, with an expansion to 155 acres now underway. It is under the jurisdiction of the Kansas Adjutant General’s Department and operated by the Kansas Division of Emergency Management.
Crisis City serves military and civilian personnel across Kansas as well as other states, including Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North and South Dakota, Texas and Louisiana. Among those who have trained at the center are the Army, FBI, Secret Service and various state public safety agencies — even K-9 units.

We should re-identify this place as a Quisling Training Facility

Far too few understand the difference between sheriffs and "other" law enforcement. Sheriffs of course, are locally elected and independent as a result, while "police" are WHOLLY political tools of the executive. And that's not even to mention the federal level where marshals are supposed to be the norm but every alphabet agency now has it's own "enforcement".

Left unchecked for many years now, what has developed is the standing military upon our soil that's being used to enforce laws - EXACTLY what the founders abhorred and stood steadfastly against.

Whether it's outright confiscation as we witnessed in the Katrina aftermath or the "shelter in place" drama that unfolded after the boston marathon bombings, or even swat warrant serving, it is clear that posse comitatus is as irrelevant to the political class as is the Constitution itself.

So by federal agent or federal dollar, the gubmint is doing EXACTLY it has been forbidden to do - all while it is not doing that which it was tasked with doing.

A warm and fuzzy puff piece for .gov thuggery and that is how it is all sold to J. Q. Public -- all for your safety and well being.

Does anyone feel safe yet?

Sounds like a far cry from the original "Hogan's Alley", which had the purpose of training first responders that not everything that moves is a target.

The one glaring fallacy of training like this... The fact that the "good" guys always win...

The article stressed that it was about training first responders, but the only examples given were from the active shooter scenarios. And if it truly is about "first response," then why do they still need donations of equipment people could have accidents with? Didn't Sebelius supply those when the place was set up for first responder training? You see where I'm going with this?

They train, we train.

I will never understand why law enforcement seems to be drawn to very short carbines , the shorter the better.Their entire training is 100 yards or less.
I just returned from a 600 yard shoot. We now have two local gun ranges that put on these monthly events and it's a packed event . What impressed me most was the young men and women 14-25 that could get on paper (24"x24") with standard deer rifles and 3x9 scopes.
Let them train all they want with micro-carbines and pistols. It will be to their
folly.

"They train, we train."

Not quite. You see they use our sustenance to do their training and "work."

They also believe that they are absolutely empowered to do so because their appointed judges keep agreeing that everything they do is constitutional, even though we know THEY LIE!
