Gee whiz. Only NOW are they starting to notice?

Flouting The Law, Some New Yorkers Won't Register Guns
New York state has some of the toughest gun laws in the country. Compliance with those laws is another matter. New York passed a broad package of gun regulations after the school shooting in Newtown, Conn., despite the objections of hunters and gun rights advocates. Now it appears that many gun owners are refusing to comply with a key provision that requires the registration of so-called assault weapons.

Notice how they don't mention the figures on how many "military-style" weapons were not registered. Not even the percentage of non-registered. 95% would send your average NPR reader into cardiac arrest..

I am a proud participant in the same Armed Civil Disobedience in Kommiecticut. Believe me, the underground gun economy is FLOURISHING. All private firearms transactions are supposed to be "authorized" (read registered) by the state. Yet that portion of the law is nullified by non-compliance. Unfortunately, purchases at a gun shop are registered by the state FOREVER.

Guns and money swapping hands, good old American commerce at it's most basic.

Their job will be to try and take 'em. My job is to resist violently!!! As the Founder's ordained . It must be so!!! Body count will be very high on both sides. This stalemate won't go on forever. Question is do Cuomo, and [D]im witt[Ct] Dannell Malloy got the balls. To ignite the 2nd shot, heard around the world.Behind enemy lines. In Unconstitutional ,collectivist Ct. We will never stand down, nor comply. AAA/O. 11B20.

Publishing the high rate of non compliance would only encourage those few fence sitters to also refuse. From the left's point of view that would be "giving aid and comfort to the enemy." Perhaps you've noticed they're even less forgiving to their "traitors" than we are of ours.
