"Comrades, hand over your weapons!"

A tip of the boonie hat to Radio Show Notes.
"Comrades, hand over your weapons!"
Of course after you do, this is what you get:
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.” -- Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn

If we end up like a lot of other countries it's gonna be really embarassing.

The poster uses the word for citizens, not comrades, and the word for arms or weapons, not guns. You will notice that the illustration also depicts a sword and a bayonet along with a rifle, a revolver and a pistol. All those objects are illustrated because many were illiterate. So the better translation would be "Citizens, give up your weapons."

thanks Ed, I remembered enough of the Cyrillic alphabet to see that it didn't say tovarishchi, but damned if I knew what the words *did* mean.

A war is coming. Never will I kneel down and take a bullet in the back of the head. I am old and over the hill, so if I die in a firefight, they won't have accomplished shit. My prayer is to thin out their ranks before it is my turn. Who could ask for anything more?

With all the inversions of definitions and thoughts ongoing today, let me state the facts:

Diane Feinstein is a REBEL.

We the targets of her wrath, are not rebels. Any discussion of 'gun control' should always have injected into the conversation the statement that Feinstein is a rebel, that Feinstein is rebelling.

I would not be so kind as to describe Feinstein as a "rebel", but would instead define her as a traitor to her oath of office "to support and defend the Constitution" who is misusing her office to advocate the violation of your civil rights. To what end? It does not matter.

If this was a sporting event and she was a player, the referees or umpires would have ejected her from the game a long time ago for unsportsmanlike conduct for her contempt of the rules of the game.

I've been checking out what Cuomo's saying about gun confiscation... I think Mike put it best:''If you try to take our firearms,we will kill you.''
