Pushing 6 and Rosey's not home yet.

She left work at 10:30 this morning in company of another co-worker. Checked in at a pay phone from Trussville at noon. And no, she doesn't have a cell phone. We could only afford the one. Keep her in your prayers. Heard from Hannah and she made it to a safe place where she will spend the night.
Later: I'll be damned, however, if we don't find the money to get her a phone after this. In fact, I'll be glad of the opportunity.

I use a Tracfone. I buy a years worth of hours at one time for about $100.00. Cheap, cheap, cheap. I doesn't take pics, but who gives a cr*p...

Check them out...

Alcatel 510a on sale at Best Buy (online) right now for $11.99 as a no-contract AT&T Go-Phone. This is my phone. I got it (paid $20) because I hate talking on phones, so don't do it much, but want good audio and the cheapest possible plan when I do have to. The Alcatel 510A is a "dumb phone" -- just a phone -- but the audio call quality is great. If AT&T has good coverage where you are, a no-contract pre-paid 10 cents per minute plan is about as cheapskate as it gets.

Always scary stuff, when you don't know if your loved one is safe. Glad it turned out OK, Mike.

Take a look at Ting for cell phone. Downside, no mfg.rebate, so you have to purchase phone. Upside...great rate plans and the absolute best customer service I have ever had in this day and age.

Another Option:

Inexpensive cell phone service Ting (sprint), $7-14 a month 100 minutes, buy a refurbished phone (thru their website) or find a sprint compatible one to use (an older used model that a friend doesn't use any more, not too old won't work).

+1 on the Tracfone.
$10 @ WM, $20 for 3 months service & 60 mins (120 if you buy a 2x minutes phone).
After the initial $20 outlay, both of us have comms for $13 a month.
