And this collectivist moke is a HISTORY PROFESSOR?

"Rescind the 2nd Amendment."
Anytime you feel froggy, professor. Do it. And watch what happens.
My comment (which for some reason isn't being accepted):
For a history professor (even a collectivist one), you seem woefully -- if not willfully -- ignorant of the Law of Unintended Consequences as well as American history. Given that your plan would start a civil war that would stack up (at least) hundreds of thousands of bodies, one has to wonder if you really are that short-sighted or just honestly bloody-minded. How many of us "bitter clingers" do you wish to see dead in order to achieve your plan? A million? Two? Ten? For that is what it will take. Decide now if it is worth it to you, and then have then courage of your convictions and come along with one of the raid parties sent to work your violent will upon us. Now THAT would be a historical education all itself. For when democracy turns to tyranny, the armed citizenry still gets to vote.

I've seen this so many times before,;some left-winger pontificating on an agenda that advocates some one else taking the risks. If he is indeed a history professor, he needs to review what happened to the Tories after the revolution. Pick a country professor cause your commie ass is leaving.

To make a comment and get it posted you need a Facebook account -- something you prefer not to do.

Facebook is just a tool, only as good or bad as the person using it, and no more intrusive -- unless you want it to be -- than operating a public blog.

The Constitution is not some "living document" which means whatever the Progs want it to mean this week. It is a legal contract between the Fedgov and the States and People of the Republic. When one party breaks faith the other party is absolved of obligation.

I wonder what other civil rights he would like to revoke as "inconvenient" to his sense of good order.

Why don't you email him?

Or give him a phone call?

Or drop by his office?

Pretty amazing that a history professor would make the constitution 101 level mistake of confusing the phrase "well regulated" in those days with what it means now. In those days, it meant well functioning, and had zero to do with govt decrees.

You are more than welcome to TRY and liberate me from my god given right for self-protection.
The second Amendment of the Constitution is in place to prevent such things, and "Shall Not Be Infringed" really means just that.
And Fuck You sir, the Constitution IS indeed a sacred text to many more than you may think, and you have no bearing on that whatsoever.

I certainly hope you understand those words, because the only way I will relinquish my arms is from my cold dead hands.

Come and take them, if you think you can.
And bring a lunch, it may take a while.

Hell, that's the least of his worries. He should also look into what always happens to the intellectuals and rabble rousers and the like when his side wins. No one needs theoreticians and revolutionaries after the revolution is over. They just need servants.
