The bum's rush on amnesty.

Sounds like somebody's planning on influencing (stealing) elections. Tell me again about the wonders of open borders absent the rule of law.

Amnesty? Bureaucrats already drawing up plan to implement.

$1 billion, 30-week processing program revealed in leaked 14-page Homeland Security memo

Posted: May 14, 2010

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, already has drafted a plan for processing 13 million illegal alien applicants for amnesty in a 30-week period at an estimated cost of $1 billion, WND has learned.

The plan, a copy of which was obtained by WND, anticipates the approval of so-called "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" legislation pending in Congress and assumes a nine-month ramp-up period for processing of applications.

The undated draft report anticipates the possibility of the legislation requiring public benefits to amnesty applicants.

"If the statute requires interim benefits while application pending, issue discrete variant of status document (shorter term duration that [sic] if issued after prospective immigrant status granted)," the 14-page memo states.

Under the plan, applicants 14 through 79 years old would be required to submit themselves for photographs, a full set of fingerprints and a signature. A photo and single print would be required for others.

Only one outside contractor is discussed in the memo – Northrop Grumman – and the plan suggests negotiating a contract now, even before the legislation is approved. It also calls for volunteer help at local service centers and field offices.

The last time Washington attempted a push for amnesty under the guise of "Comprehensive Immigration Reform," under President George W. Bush in 2007, the project triggered an outcry from talk radio and the public. It failed as a result. However, the political makeup of the Congress has changed since then, becoming even more Democratic.

Democratic leaders recognize their control of both houses is in jeopardy in the November elections and are determined to pass the amnesty program – though they abhor that word.

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., has enlisted evangelical leaders to promote the plan. Democrats are determined to get at least some Republican support for the measure so the party is not held to account for amnesty like it is for another unpopular piece of legislation following the health-care debate that already threatens many Democrat seats.

Even Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Sen. Lindsay Graham, R-S.C., formerly vociferous proponents of the plan during the Bush administration, have distanced themselves from efforts in the Senate to revive it.

"You can play a vital role," Schumer told religious leaders including Richard Land of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission and Mathew of Liberty Counsel, saying Republicans have great respect for them. "So please, if you could, help us get some Republicans just to sit in a room and talk to us."

There must be no amnesty. We did it in 1986, I believe. Which brought us to this situation today.

one billion dollars ... that would be an awful lot of one-way bus tickets ! Have we secured the moral high ground yet?

I followed the link to the No Amnesty Pledge. And I spent the $25 to send the faxes to the Senate. As far as I´m concerned if they pass ANY BILL WITH AMNESTY that will be the First Shot and they will have fired it. Amnesty will destroy this country. This is nothing more than having 13 Million Fraudulent Foreigners Voting in Our Elections. The Demoncrats will stop at nothing to keep power and they MUST be stopped at all costs.
Just the day before yesterday I was on the Boarder helping some people from one of the collages take wildlife samples for their studies. And had 7 illegals cross the river. We helped boarder patrol catch them. And this was all happening in broad daylight.

The 3 million that were "amnesthetized" in 1986 grew to over 12 million. Anchor babies, pulling family over with them and the massive encouragement to run the border that followed...

Hmmm, lemme see. They now admit that there ae AT LEAST 13 million here, so the number is higher than 13 million. It might be closer to the 20 million that a lot of people claim.

So 13 million new Democrat voters come on board and tear up California and the southwestern states political processes. Sounds like a political war to me. I wonder how many states will say "HELL NO" and secede???

So it's just assumed we even HAVE this $1 billion to begin with?

You know it would take around $60 million to mine the entire border area with Mexico ... a hell of a lot cheaper than amnesty.

Wow I can't believe people on here criticizing President Reagan. Although many say if he ran for the Presidency today he'd have to run as a Democrat based on many of the things he did during his 8 yrs in office.

But the "stopped at all costs" rhetoric is tiring and that is what must be stopped. All costs? Really? All costs means no limit, all out war. What you're saying is a basic incitement of violence and war against the American people, the United States of America and the freedom that this country was founded on.
And if ALL of the illegals were suddenly kicked out of the country the USA's largest state & city economies would fall so far in the toilet we'd make Greece and Iceland look like the promised land. NYC, Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Dallas, Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, etc would cripple and fall into chaos.

The rule of law doesn't exist, it never existed, it is a myth. All systems of laws past and present have so many logical inconsistencies that you can pretend to argue to any conclusion you desire.

Most law is the emperor's whim. Green cards are a poll tax. If ruling other people by force is morally valid, then doing so is a right, whose exercise may not be converted into a privilege by regulating it.

Legitimate minefields require marking and fencing. Betcha landowners on the border would volunteer a 50' wide strip for the national guard to fence mine and mark in many languages.

Mines are cheap and effective. That's why they hate for us to use mines.

Quite a few foreign nationals join our military and serve honorably. Make E-4 and get a fast-track to citizenship before E-5.

If US Citizenship is "affordable" to lawbreakers via a "small fine", my citizenship/military service is devalued to that near-worthlessness as well. I am not devalued nor have I been less-than-honorable in my actions, it's my gov't that has become less legitimate.

Cheers.

The US army has been to Mexico City twice and we gave them their sorry country back both times. I always figured those decisions were pretty smart considering the way Mexicans handle their politics. Maybe not.

If 20 million of the free loading bastards want to be US citizens, send troops to Mexico City again and, this time, execute the president, his legislature, and keep the godforsaken county.

What absolute CRAP!!!!
When are you lefties going to stop parroting that BULLSHIT lie?

If all the illegals in the US left this country tomorrow, there would me more peace and tranquility than could be imagined....in every one of those cities.

We don't need illegals to make the engine of our economy run, they are a net drain and are an anchor around the neck of this country pulling us under.

Documented workers are who we Americans want in our country, not flasely Identified, non tax paying, welfare drains, sucking the life blood out of every segment of our infrastructure, sending home 70% of their wages...thats money our local economies will never see again.

The money government is giving them is NOT government's to give away....that is money meant to take care of US citizens, not every foreigner that found their way through our borders.

Amnesty will unquestionably KILL this country, sure as the sun will rise in the morning....but that is after all what this administration is looking to do.

Pretending for a moment that this isn't an example of wild hyperbole, let's take this assertion to its logical conclusion. Illegals are let into this country to do menial jobs at artificially low wages, and the companies hiring them mold their business model to take advantage of illegal labor. Your argument is that the illegals must stay in place forever so that these faulty business models can stay afloat.

And we don't have to deport every one of them tomorrow. We can deport as many as we can while making conditions unpleasant for those who remain, and eventually most will self-deport. We've done it before.

Amen.

The only rational explanation for the apparent insanity from this admin and congress is that they want to destroy America. The only rational explanation for their motives is that they are, knowingly or willfully, tools of world domination by whatever name you wish to give it.

Socialism serves only the power mad.

Ever notice that the people that make this claim site no credible studies?
However studies that indicate the crime rate would drop are numerous.

Was there some point in there? Yes, all costs. If that war comes it will be because those of your ilk forced it by shirking duty, advocating breaking of law, and aiding and abetting enemies of this country, and the sacrifice of legal residents and citizens of this country to illegal invaders.

Trust me on this, a great many of us have no compunction waging war against those who wish to destroy this nation, no matter their place of birth or their residency status.

Push some more. But don't say you weren't warned.
