This post is off topic, but I felt that it is important enough to inform you. Yesterday, in the mail, I received a letter from the Department of Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Erie, Pa. It contained an offer of up to four free gun locks, just by filling out the form and mailing it back in. The stated reason that I was chosen, is because I have an upcoming appointment. That makes no sense, as the transaction of the gun locks will be handled by mail and of course, my appointment will be in person. But, putting that aside, how many minutes do you suppose my request and the number, would remain confidential? One? Two? Zero? My bet is, they established a hotline to the FBI and Homies already. Just another "back door" list, using a non-Security related agency.

The article would have been much more apropos had it only listed shootings that were stopped by armed Citizens. LEOs (in most cases) have some duty to intervene so should be expected to do so.
The point of the article is still valid though, early armed intervention saves lives, period.
