Cartoon demonization of gun owners recalls an earlier target

Inyenzi, a Kinyarwanda word meaning "cockroach," used to describe Tutsi by their Hutu murderers during the Rwandan genocide.
"This is an exhibit of pure bigotry. It’s every bit as evil and offensive as blood libel, and its done for the same purpose."
David recalls for us when the LA Times compared Second Amendment activists to cockroaches. The US News cartoon collection includes this one, which is not too far from the Nazi cartoon above.

Does anyone seriously doubt that these people wouldn't exterminate us if they could? Really? I have absolutely not doubts whatsoever. From my cold dead hands in a pile of empty brass.

Somehow this discussion of "political cartoons" reminds me of a Tam post from not too long ago.

Her little triptych sums it up quite nicely.

That's a broad brush you are using. Obviously, the anti-gun movement includes both people who would exterminate, and people who would be horrified at the idea.
