Give thanks for oath-breaking politicians' fear of an armed citizenry.

Be thankful for their fears. Those fears, as the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence reminds us (although they are, of course, decidedly unthankful about it), are what stands between us and the "progressive" utopia they would otherwise inflict on us, if they had the security of a "government monopoly on force." If those fears become strong enough, perhaps some day we can give thanks for never having been forced to make them come true.

This article is very much on target. Fear is the real thing restraining these tyrants. Maybe we need to display pictures of Mussolini hanging from his heels, with the caption, "The solution to the Mussolini problem remains always available. Tyrants, take care."

I think that many of them understand that in the game of chess, all it takes is one well placed pawn to take out a king.
Life's a lot like chess...

The only "fear" our current tribe of plutocrats have is of losing their exalted status ! Few, if any, have any real "fear" of an armed revolt. Mostly, I suspect, because their pidgeon in brains can't grasp the enormity of such a circumstance ! MW

It's not an armed revolt they fear, but a bullet through their living room window. It's Americans buying vast stocks of guns and ammo, despite all the contrary propaganda. If they didn't have such fear they would have passed gun confiscation years ago. No government wants to see armed peasants. They tolerate it because they fear the alternative worse.

Paul X nailed it. Moreover, bureaucrats fear reprisals against them, whatever form they take. Hiding behind the "rules" did not work at Nuremberg and it won't work now. They know it and we know it.
