"We kind of live in our sanitized lives. We don't get exposed to violent crime in our daily lives. But maybe it's right underneath our noses and we don't realize it, and there's this army of agents out there kind of keeping things at bay."
Well, I know I feel safer knowing THAT.
Kind of. Sorta. Maybe.
Sheesh! So many "outs" in such a short story. I wonder if she really interviewed this mystery undercover man? How did she meet him? How did she even learn of his existence?
Reminds me of the poem,
"I met a man upon the stair,
A little man who wasn't there. . . "
Sounds to me like she stumbled on a Secret Squirrel type with an active imagination, a slick story, and a fake badge. I'm inclined to doubt that real UC are quite so romantic or so ignorant of OPSEC.
