Outstanding. "I grabbed the AK and started muzzle thumping him in the head." "And the three of us beat him until he was unconscious." (Updated with better link.)

France train shooting: US soldiers speak of the moment they stopped gunman and 'beat him until he was unconscious'
"We just did what we had to do. You either run away or fight. We chose to fight and got lucky and didn't die."

Jeff Cooper would have been proud. He once wrote that citizens who act in this way should receive medals, publicly.

If that son-of-a-butch still has a pulse after that beating, they didn't finish the job! That means he stands a great chance of walking the streets again after a french court turns him into a poor victim of the "mean old American military".

It is interesting that initial reports state that three U.S. Marines took down the gunman but later reports have three U.S. childhood friends in their twenties - a USAF Airman, a National Guard Specialist just back from a tour in Afghanistan, and a civilian along with the assistance of a middle-aged British IT consultant as the ones who took down the gunman. The British IT consultant provide the tie that bound the gunman.

As I said on my FB page, they went through their OODA Cycle (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) and then did what Sheepdogs (warriors) do, defended the sheep. Now is the time for all of us to decide if we will be sheep or sheepdogs.
