The ORIGINAL gathering place for a merry band of Three Percenters. (As denounced by Bill Clinton on CNN!)
Yes, Sergeant Dan - there are a LOT of vets out here who know a LOT of stuff, so think carefully before you make them all your enemies.
Used to be the saying was Come and Take it from my cold dead hands. No more. The new saying is, come and try, I will take your gun from your cold dead hands. No matter how much the police arm themselves, they cannot ever overwhelm well trained veterans. The police need a tank, they need a place to hide, cause most of them can't shoot worth a damn. No wonder they are scared.
"...plus, you have a lot of people who are coming out of the military that have the ability and knowledge to build IEDs and to defeat law enforcement techniques."Not to mention those who were either peacetime veterans or haven't served at all and are now eager to learn the craft just to be able to resist a militarized police occupation force.
They do seem to want one, don't they?
It is good that you believe this, Mr. Downing, it just might keep you honest.Chris Bauman
Some of these vets need to go to ground and resurface in a few months with new ID's.
We had a lot of veterans return from World War II, but we didn't hear local agencies clamoring for, or see government rushing to supply local police or sheriffs with Sherman tanks or half-tracks.
Yep, Sheriff - but only if you are not on the side of justice and freedom ... dang Puke!III
Morgan county's cops are long known for their corruption and heavy handed approach to enforcement activities. I've been cuffed and stuffed for having the audacity to be an out of towner with a gun. They tried everything to provoke me but in the end, I was cool headed enough to win the day. There is very little to no violence in that county short of what the local cops create. It's a hoax and this cat is just another shill looking to justify his actions and existence. Morgan county needs better cops, not an MRAP. The only good thing about MRAP's is that the maintenance is costly and parts are expensive. The hick town mechanics in Martinsville will make it a huge paperweight within a year. Poor disenfranchised Dan might want to reconsider his attitude concerning warfighters, they are far more deadly with small arms than his entire team. With or without your beloved cop toaster.
That fat assed cop is delusional. Returning vets frighten him, hence the 'need' for an MRAP. Give me a break.
It makes absolutely no sense to equip local law enforcement with military grade weaponry. Contrary to popular belief, having military equipment doesn't make you military. In fact, it's extremely stupid on their part because they are facing men who are experienced in warfare and in no time at all, that MRAP will belong to the vets. As the saying goes " it'll be like taking candy from a baby".
IEDs? Too messy. I prefer delivering a single.308 shot as he picks up his morning paper on his front lawn. Your MRAP is useless against that.
Bullshit. The claim of increased violence is bullshit. Violent crime has dropped at least 50% since the 90s, as private gun ownership and shall issue carry laws have increased. These bastards are only worried about their continued ability to oppress and get away with murder.
I wonder how long an MRAP would last against a D-9 caterpillar?
BrokenSailor: I always wondered aboutthe "cold" qualifier. I'm no forensicscientist, nor do I watch those playingsame on TV but my guess is that one wouldhave to wait too long.
The problem with that, Anonymous from May 21, 2014 at 2:19 PM, is that the MRAP is more maneuverable than the D-9 Cat. Unless, of course, one is able to set an appropriate ambush. The better question is how many 55 gallon drums with the appropriate contents does it take to make an MRAP a death trap...
4th Generation Asymmetrical Warfare…..’nuff said.
Speaking of D-9 Cats:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZbG9i1oGPANever piss off a man with a Cat and a welder...
