This was on a big city subway where noticing things can get you harassed for a handout with a big helping of guilt trip if you won't, or stuck in a really stupid conversation with some unintelligible, mentally ill person (remember Bill Cosby's monologue about two drunks talking to each other on the subway? Like that, but not funny at all), or even in trouble. And women still can't look at many men who "just naturally assume" that if she scowls at him, she must have the hots for him. Also a humongous neck pain. So of course nobody even wanted to notice anything. And you can't get a concealed carry permit in San Francisco. Of course nobody noticed.
