The ORIGINAL gathering place for a merry band of Three Percenters. (As denounced by Bill Clinton on CNN!)

Well, there goes my Black Friday.
No .22 Long Rifle ammo specials to be had in central Ohio. Not that I could discover. Oh, well. Ironically, there were several in the Birmingham area, but the guy who I tasked to pick some up turns out to have overslept. And this is the guy who wants to marry my oldest daughter. I told his father the other day that he met my minimum standards: a. He loves her. B. She loves him. C. He's a hard worker. D. He can shoot. E. He would, I have no doubt, take a bullet for her. But if he can't even be trusted to pick up a box of .22 Long Rifle, I may have to reconsider.

Yep, that could be a deal breaker!
Ya know, in the big scheme of things, a box of .22 ammo seems pretty insignificant.
If I need some, well, I get my own.
Now that is a hoot Mike! Maybe he can make up for his late start by catching some fresh fish and grilling them or some wind game and preparing it for a post Thanksgiving meal. Rebuild that confidence young man by focusing on what's important!
If the kid cannot prioritize or follow simple instructions, I would be suspicious too.
My little girl is a loooong ways away from dating, but I rue the day that she does.
you're being optimistic when it comes to anyone under the age of 35 or so. No offense to proven III pers out there under 35, but for the rest - you gotta show me..
Given all the reasons he is worthy of your daughter's troth you may wish to reconsider allowing the perfect to be the enemy of the good. _revjen45
Interesting dilemma you face.
My daughters are still little so I'll not face your situation for some time. However....
It seems to me that (potential) young son needs a quick primer on the value of fulfilling your promises, even something as simple as meeting someone else at an agreed-upon time and place.
In other words, not many kids today are truly educated on your word being your bond.
Mike you need to give the young man a break. First of all he is in love. Second eating turkey tends to make one sleepy.
You are setting an example to this young man. He must pay penance for his misdeeds in order to get back in the family graces. Give him some menial tasks that he must complete or you will ........
Both of my daughters are on their own and I have lost control of what, whom, etc.
My boys are rarely out of bed before 9 am., but they are also never in bed before midnight. I figure they will be good for night watch when the SHTF. Have him cast some bullets for you to make it up.
No military, right?
Four years of USAF (or whatever branch) will fix that sleeping-in issue.
Your daughter is over 18. What you can say or do is very limited, my friend.

I just belly laughed so hard I fell off my bar stool, which is in my house so I had a peaceful landing.
I say on rare occasion Mike makes a funny worthy of belly laugh. As he is a gifted observer and commentator of life's journeys based around our rights granted by God,and that involves speaking truth.
So it seems all things truly funny have a kernel of truth to them.In this case the whole truth.
The young man will be walking with tail between legs for at least a little bit,if he's worthy.
