"The country's going to go nuts, because they're going to see it as a move outside the authority of the president, and it's going to be a very serious situation. (Y)ou could see instances of anarchy. You could see violence."
You mean like the way they've gone nuts after crapping all over every other right we have? I'm not holding my breath. i may not be from Missouri but you'll have to show me anyway
I'm with Anon at 5:39am....ain't gonna be any violence. Just a bunch of online belly aching.
Not going to happen.
The honest folks against Amnesty have to be at work in the morning to pay for the benefits for all these invaders.
Right, Carl. You sleep with dogs, you get fleas.
Soon, we will hear that some politician, (who voted for the acts of this unconstitutional president), was found in the morning, in his driveway, in his housecoat, with a big hole through his head...his morning paper still in his hand. 4GW.
The republicans will try to put on a good show, lots of bluster, lots of steamy faces, lots of guffaw......but it's only a show. The GOP wants amnesty too.
Yes, "you *could* see" anarchy and violence. You *could* also see Bigfoot barbequing a chupacabra in your backyard. In theory, those are possible. In reality, you won't - at least not of any consequence.
While Tom Coburn is right on Amnesty, he is a RINO Fraud, whose single vote during the 2010 "Lame Duck" session, allowed O'bama's Stalinist 'Food Safety and Modernization Act' to pass, so now O'bama and company, have Full control over the American peoples Food supply and can Try and starve us out!
"Anonymous @1213 p.m.", Agree 100%, the repubs want Amnesty also and are as Fully Left Wing as their dem comrades!
It'll be pretty quick feedback re: how Republicans will deal with conflict issues between its base and its corporate sponsors. One thing Congress has is the power of the purse. Either they use that now in a parsed CR fashion as Jeff Sessions has recommended, forswearing by explicit wording any funds to go to these illegal activities, or they do a silly lawsuit sideshow to fake like they're doing something for the base while knowing it'll amount to zilch at the end of the day. My guess is the leadership will ignore the one constitutional remedy under their purview, the budget, and proceed with the dog and pony show.
Guess we get pretty quick feedback how the Republican leadership will deal with conflicts issues between its base and its corporate sponsors. Should they adhere to Jeff Sessions recommended strategy of parsing out short-term CR's with explicit wording forbidding the use of the funds for these illegal activities, then they're serious. Should they opt instead for a lawsuit sideshow that they know will amount to zilch at the end of the day, while pretending to be doing something for its base, then they too regard us as toooo stupid to understand. I'm guessing the latter unfortunately.
