ATF raids Muncie-area Gun Dealer.

Received a text message about the Ludco Gun Shop raid this morning.

More here.

Parker City - The owner of a gun shop is under arrest after federal officers raided his business.

Over 75 agents and support staff with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) executed a search warrant and confiscated what appear to be thousands of guns from Ludco Gun Shop. Agents could be seen loading the weapons into boxes onto a truck.

Police arrested Ludco's owner, Charles Frederick Ludington. Ludco customers, who know Ludington as "Fred," say he's well-known and respected in the community.

US attorney Joe Hogsett and the ATF announced a press conference for 1:30 pm Tuesday to discuss what prompted the operation.

Court records on the case are sealed.

LATER:
The Muncie Star Press reports:

Ludco Gun Shop owner Fred Ludington was arrested this morning on federal charges.

Ludington was charged with selling firearms to felons and non-Indiana residents.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

I've posted my thoughts on this on my blog also.

I will be very interested in what "illegalities" this owner is accused of perpetrating.

Hm...more positive press to cover Gunwalker?

Don't know a thing about the owner, the case, or his guilt or innocence. BUT, if Gunwalker sales prompted by ATF did indeed involve far more than gun dealers in the 4 border states, what would be the most effective way to make sure dealers forced into those transactions refrained from talking to the media, or Congress? How about arresting one dealer for "selling guns to straw purchasers?" You know...doing exactly what ATF told the dealer to do!! But as the dealer can't PROVE the ATF was in on it, has no tape of ATF conversations, he could be hung out to dry! What better way to CONVINCE other dealers to STFU!!! Just another looney conspiracy theory, but if ANY outfit is capable of such things, it's the Obama Regime.

Well, what do you expect? ATF told the field to get out there and build some positive press.....

75 ATF people.... To screw in a lightbulb.

It's also called 'Grandstanding'. Just like Waco. Invite the press, make a huge circus out of it. Lots of folks standing around with ATF jackets = lots of press coverage, lots of 'positive' publicity as requested by ATF headquarters. "Never mind all the dead Mexicans from the guns ATF allowed to walk to Mexico. We busted a gun dealer for (mostly) bookkeeping violations"! (and he didn't shoot back!)

The ATF arrested him for selling guns to felons??
W-T-Bloody-F!!
If we follow THAT line of logic to it's absurd conclusion, then WHY isn't any, all and every BAT-feces agent and supervisor who has authorized the sale of guns in the Gunwalker scandal NOT already been thrown UNDER the jail??!!

So if you hear the midnight knock, I guess it's time to shoot through the door first and ask questions after.

They don't knock. They blast the door with a shotgun, throw in a flashbang, and come in shooting. You won't have a CHANCE to shoot through the door.
