Voting with their feet.
"Where we goin', Ma?" "Back to Oklahoma, son, to get out from under these infernal taxes. . . You brung the SKS we never declared, didn't ya?" "Yes, ma." "And the two crates of Chinese steel core ammo?" "Yes, ma. . . Got 'em hid under the quilts in back." "Good boy. We're goin' back to someplace free where ya kin shoot all day and not have somebody eyein' yer magazine capacity."
Businesses Exit California and Illinois.
Line of hard-working Korean shopkeepers leaving LA.
Huh. Totalitarian politicians puzzled by free people's rejection of socialism. Next thing you know, they'll be wanting to build a wall between Kalifornia and the rest of the continental United States. None for the Mexican border, though.
It's not just businesses. My wife and I left nine years ago, as soon as we could retire. We decided it was time to get out before we had to shoot our way out. Crime, especially gang crime, is totally out of control. It was all foretold in Chittum's book: CIVIL WAR TWO.
Yup! They'll run the economy over with a truck, back up and run it over again, then get out of the truck and blame anyone they want, for what they just did! Then the media will agree and suddenly find numerous instances of that and other behaviors, with which to beat them in the public eye and mind. NONE of it true but that doesn't matter, it gains them power and money and those things are more important than freedom and liberty and constitutional rights.
If this were simply a matter of understanding and ignorance, it would be an easy fix, but it isn't. These people want to win and will do anything to accomplish their goals and feel justified because it is not freedom and liberty they value. They value power, control and money which they can steal and then blame the theft on others. Since the media is their's to command, you can see just how much truth and facts are likely to be reported to the average person, and so, there you are.
When Springfield Armory leaves, then I will consider it.
Same thing on the east coast. I fled the peoples republik of New Jersistan 11 years ago. Went to Florida, lower taxes, Concealed carry is legal & Castle doctrine, I am now responsible for my own safety and defense - - - and it doesn't snow. (at least where I live.)
Cool, someone mentioning CW II. I wonder whatever happened to Chittum?
I'm waiting for both states to implement a 50% "exit tax" on anyone who moves out of state.
I left the communist mecca of Il repute 15 years ago. Praise the Lord! Home of the obammatards. Don't miss it at all. Moved to God's country (South of the Ohio River) I wasn't born in Dixie, but I got here as soon as I could.
What? How dare these companies defy the "you pay me to protect yourself from me" Chicago style political system.
Next thing ya know one person every ten minutes will start leaving the land of Lincoln....oh wait that's already been happening.
And for the sunshine state, how they gonna pay for all those illegals if all the businesses leave cause the rent is to damn high?
What's this country coming to when people start standing up to the corruption, how are the politicians gonna make ends meat?
Well I don't have the answers...I'm just gonna go clean my guns and take another ammo count........
I got the hell out of the People's Republik of Kalifornia 5 and a half years ago.I now reside in Nevada, and I sure as hell ain't looking back! The taxes and the bullshit gun laws sent me out.I may be just a working man,but when I left Kali,a law abiding taxpayer who didn't suck up resources was probably replaced by 10 parasitic criminaliens.Suck it Kali Kommies!
unfortunately we are losing the real vocal people to help lead california out of this mess. I'm not willing to call CA a lost war. We are really starting to turn the tide in the gun rights area towards more freedom. Hopefully the pro-liberty business interests can come back as well. The EPA has all but seized control of the large aftermarket automotive industry and they are now completely in bed with them. We have a long fight for freedom here in CA. If I didn't have such a good job, I would definitely think of leaving too.
I lived in California for 13 years and watched as the criminal gang in Sacramento voted for bill after bill to reduce access to rights, most of which passed.
I attended a concealed carry hearing held by the California Senate in the 1990's, no less than John Lott and Suzanna Gratia Hupp spoke in support of moving from "may issue" to "shall issue". It quickly became obvious that the decision to ignore the rights of citizens had already been made, and that's precisely what occurred.
My wife and I left in 2005, things have become far worse in the six years since that time. Things will worsen still in my opinion.
I'm an ole Mississippi boy who has lived in the CA and in FL. While in the Sunshine state I had a Pistol Range on my property and all my buddies would come over and fire-away, even full-autos at times. In CA, that was a no-no unless you wanted jail time. CA in a true welfare state and certainly not a gun-friendly place unless you are a gang member who disregards the laws and preys on law abiding citizens knowing that most can't shoot back.
