Arizona Democrat Steve "The Tit" Farley.
Gun club offers photos with Santa, weapons.
An Arizona gun club is offering a chance for children and their families to pose for photos with Santa while holding pistols and military-style rifles.
One image shows Santa in a wingback chair with a snowflake background, a Christmas tree behind him and flanked by an $80,000 machine gun and a tripod-mounted rifle. Next to Santa is a man standing behind a boy, who is holding an unloaded AR-15 with an attached grenade launcher.
In another photo, Santa cradles a toddler dressed in camouflage, while a man and woman stand close by with rifles with foldable stocks. In yet another image, five beaming young ladies pose with AR-15, an AK-47 variant and other rifles as they surround old Saint Nick.
Ron Kennedy, general manager of the Scottsdale Gun Club, said the business got the idea for the photo op last year when a club member happened to come in dressed as Santa and other members wanted their picture taken while they were holding their guns.
This does not go over well with the gun confiscationists:
Democratic state Rep. Steve Farley, who proposed an unsuccessful ban on large-capacity gun magazines like the one used in the Jan. 8 mass shooting in Tucson, Arizona, that killed six people and wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and 12 others, said the gun club's photo op was inappropriate.
"To involve machine guns and Santa in a celebration in the birth of Jesus Christ is the worst kind of heresy I can imagine," said Farley. "I would suggest that the people who created this read some of the New Testament."
Okay, let's stipulate that Santa Claus, who until recently was embraced by the anti-religionists as the safe secular icon of Christmas as opposed to Jesus, the Christ Child, is the invented synthesis of both Christian and previous pagan celebrations. It is obvious now, however, that poor old Santa is being run out of the public spaces by modern day pagans who no longer even are comfortable with the fact that somebody might get the idea that anything to do with "the Holidays" might have even a tangential relationship with the birth of God's Son.

Farley, whose most recent legislative initiative is HB2356, a bill designed to revise the Arizona regulations regarding breast feeding at work and on jury duty, comes to his concern for the sanctity of Christian beliefs and expression with more than a tad of hypocrisy, given that in 2009 he voted against the Arizona Students' Religious Liberties Act (HB 2357), which would have codified court rulings into state law,
"clarifying that students have constitutional rights to express their religious beliefs. A win-win for schools, parents, and students, this new law eliminates confusion and uncertainty about whether religious expression is allowed in Arizona's public schools."
"To involve machine guns and Santa in a celebration in the birth of Jesus Christ is the worst kind of heresy I can imagine," said Farley. "I would suggest that the people who created this read some of the New Testament."
Heresy, yes, well.
Farley, who is a declared Episcopalian and pro-abortionist, has been accused before of
using his Bible as a prop. As for me, I'll leave God's ultimate judgment of Farley to God, although I would suggest that he read that Bible a little closer and then consult the Webster's Dictionary definitions of "heresy" and "hypocrisy."

Perhaps we need a reminder of the Christmas story. The one in my Bible features a powermad dictator named Herod who murdered a generation of infants in order to secure his monopoly on power. So, in light of scripture, how about this for heresy: a pro-abortion, pro-government-force-monopy representative lecturing on the true meaning of Christmas.
"Christmas" and Dec. 25th is a farce anyway.
It is a LIE that Jesus was born on Dec. 25th. It is easily proven (from Scripture) that he was born on the Festival of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) 6 months after John the Baptist (who was born on Passover). Sukkot occurs in Sept/Oct and is a "set time" of the LORD.
Dec. 25th is an ALTERNATE "set" time and is the "birthday" of numerous pagan sun gods....Mithra and Tammuz being among the most obvious.
Celebrating "Christmas" on Dec. 25th is propagating a lie (breaking commandment #9) and following the ways of the heathen; something followers of God are not supposed to do.

I'm confused now. Is there a "Modern Progressive" bible that features Santa instead of Christ?
Mike as a "modern day Pagan" I and most of my coreligionists have no problems with Santa, Jesus, mangers, or any of the other trappings of Christmas. We accept them as part of our heritage as Americans and find no offense in them. There are a few acceptations of course, these are generally folks who have suffered various indignities from people clamming to be Christians but who fall far short practicing, what he (Jesus) preached.
All that being said I hope you were referring to those people in government who have failed to understand that they are suppose to serve the interests of the people.
Now on a personal level I have trouble stretching my mind to encompass jolly old Santa and an AK47, but haa, that's just me, to each his own. Be it far from me to tell some one how they should take their Holiday (sorry Christmas) snaps. Farley is just another hack trading on knee jerk reactions to further his collectivist/ leftest/ disarmament agenda, so anything that is is a stick in his eye is fine with me.
Marry Christmas

People can say whatever they want but Arizona's voters have giving this country some real pieces of work. John, Janet this piece of scum in this story. Say nothing about how many governors from that state that have gone to prison or been cutting deals to not go to prison.
I personally rate the state of AZ with CA, NY, NJ and IL as the states with the most hardcore, useful idiots as voters.
Apologies in advance if this offends any of Mike's readers. Nevertheless, AZ has giving this country some of the worse of the worse lawmakers that are seemingly always hands on in the destruction of this country.
Actually, Sean...Christmas derives its name, "Christ's Mass," from the Mass offered in honor of the Birth of Christ. Its early English form was written as "Christes Maesse," and in the course of the change of the English
language it eventually became Christmas. In the earliest days of the
Church this feast did not exist. Greater stress was placed on the
Feast of the Epiphany, because it commemorates the day on which our
Savior was made known to the Gentiles, when the Wise Men came to
adore Him. The Feast of the Nativity came gradually into existence in
the fourth century. Its first mention is made by the great Christian
writer, Clement of Alexandria, about the year 200, and shows that it
was celebrated on May 20. About the year 300, the Latin Church began
to observe it on December 25, because an ancient tradition assigns
that day as the probable date of the Birth of our Savior.
As an Episcopalian, he's a heretic anyway. As an alleged Christian who believes that abortion is OK (in spite of 2K years witness to the contrary), his pro-choice (literal meaning of "heretic") position makes him, er, something past a heretic. But like you say, let God sort 'em out.
whenever someone tells me to look at the the new testament with the implication that Jesus was a pacifist i just have to laugh and point out the story of Jesus in the temple with a whip and the story of Jesus telling his disciples to sell their shirts and buy swords.
I, for one, have actually read my bible, not use it as a prop. According to my bible, Jesus is all for side arms. He asks his diciples if they have a sword (This is in the upper room) They had two. Jesus said, "That is enough." Also, in the garden, one of his followers was armed and cut off the soldiers ear (Which Jesus promptly healed). It is my heartfelt belief that the Lord wants us to be armed and I feel it is my God given right and duty to defend my family and myself. If any of these leftist worms think otherwise, all I can say is Molan Labe.

Santa....
You proved my point exactly.....the Apostles didn't observe Christmas and while a "Mass" may have been offered in his honor, it is no different than Exodus 32 where the Israelites build a golden calf in order to "honor" the LORD. He wasn't pleased with that intent either....and as the old saying goes, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions".
X-mas wasn't even transformed from the Grecko-Roman pagan holiday (holy-day) that celebrated the birth of the Sun God, Mithra until several hundred years AFTER Jesus' resurrection and only to make "Christianity" palatable to the Roman populace that previously worshiped Mithra instead.
This isn't a religious blog, so I'll leave it at this: Christmas had NOTHING to do with the birth of the Messiah and EVERYTHING to do with worship of pagan gods. Just b/c it's been co-opted into Christo-paganism doesn't mean it's acceptable to God.
You've been given the truth, do with it as you will.

Heck, I'm from Arizona and am glad those idiots who voted for those idiots to represent them (hmmmmmm, idiots representing idiots - sounds appropriate) haven't had all that much influence re: gun laws in comparison to states like Kommifornia. At least we have an "F" rating from the Brady Bunch.
Now about Santa - I thought for a long time HE was the one who brought me my first BB-gun . . .
If I'd known he had elves like THAT I'd have asked for the brunette on the left, I mean, what SHE has in her hands.
