"Trap springs on corrupt cops in Odessa, Texas"

My thanks to David Codrea for bringing this to my attention.

"It will be interesting to see how the Odessa police react to the trap into which they walked. I suppose they could try to press criminal charges of some sort, but if Cooper and company are telling the truth, all they did was engage in perfectly legal activity and wait for the police to misinterpret the situation, probably through the use of illegal search techniques backed by fraudulent claims made to secure a warrant. Under the circumstances, any attempts at retaliation are just going to dig a deeper hole for the local authorities."

Now, my fellow Three Percenters, let's wargame how we can play the same trick on the ATF. (Evil laugh.)

You can't, because the BATF will just "reassess" your lure weapon to be whatever contraband they want it to be, like a malfunctioning weapon being a machine gun, or the Atkins Trigger "machine gun, no, wait, not machine gun, oh wait, yes it is."

Hmmm...would have to be something about cutting down shotgun barrels...just the irony alone of using the Weaver tactic against them would be worth it.

wrap some chains and duct tape around your bootlegging equipment, then fill out some 4473's with some Ys and Ns at random. bonus points for "that depends."

Frankly, I don't think it would work; I think the SOBs would just kill you and your family and then wrap a suicide-bomber belt around your corpses and pose for hero of the year photographs. They might even get Lon Whore-e-hoochie to pose with his rifle!
