It all started out here at the Richmond Democrat blog, where J.C. Wilmore was waxing elequent about how some Republican Congresswoman had urged resistance to further taxation and thus had committed sedition. On the theory that he hadn't a clue what sedition really was, I sent him this:
Dutchman6 has left a new comment on your post "Republican member of Congress commits sedition":
We are, we must admit, two different peoples inhabiting the same national boundaries, sharing a common language but little else.
If we cannot agree on something as basic as the sanctity of life, the inalienable rights to property and liberty (see in starkest relief in the gun control debate) and the basic right to be left alone by a nanny-state government turned predatory, does ANYTHING else we agree on matter?
There are two fundamentally different visions at work here and throughout history such divisions have rarely been settled except by civil war.
Indeed, the one thing which almost guarantees conflict is the refusal on both sides, but especially the liberal side, to admit that open violence is possible.
This perception is not merely a "right wing paranoid fantasy." An Obamanoid OFA volunteer in Birmingham AL was recently quoted as saying:
"We're looking for supporters," said DeHaven of Hoover, one of the event's organizers. "We're not looking for a fight. That will come later, when we have an army."
Here's the thing though. We already ARE an army, complete with weapons and ammunition. We are the armed citizenry of the united States of America. And while you have been busy enveloping yourselves in the cult of personality of "The Lightworker," we have been busy supporting the firearms and ammunition industry by purchasing more weapons and ammo than has EVER been sold in this country.
There is a reason for that. Be careful what you wish for, you may get it.
Now this frightened J.C. considerably, for he hustled on over to the Daily Kos to write this:
A letter from a militia man (with poll)
Tue Mar 24, 2009 at 10:25:51 AM PDT
Today I received a disturbing comment on my home blog, The Richmond Democrat, and I'd like to share it with you. The comment was a response to my diary "Republican member of Congress commits sedition" which was also cross posted to Daily Kos here. My diary was about Republican Representative Michele Bachmann's call for right-wingers to be "armed and dangerous." It is a note from a right-wing (Republican?) militia man justifying their preparations to wage war against their fellow Americans.
(MBV: Insert my post here. Then he continues -- )
I am struck by just how matter of fact he is about his intentions and the fact that he is willing to give his name and contact information. At his website he claims to be under surveillance by the federal government.
Another key theme that is coming through is the "other-ness" of Democrats and Liberals. These people no longer acknowledge that we are all Americans. They regard themselves as a separate nation occupying the same territory. Establishing a mindset that labels a target group as an "other" is a key step in justifying violence towards that group. Recall Sarah Palin's use of words like "real Americans" and "real America." Members of the Republican Party and the right wing seem to be mentally preparing themselves for the use of violence and we ignore this development at our peril.
What if anything should be done about right-wing militia groups organizing in the open with a clear intention to wage war against their fellow American citizens? What responsibility, if any, does the Republican Party bear for the existence of these groups? Are the Republicans encouraging the formation of these armed groups in order to use them as a bargaining chip in political negotiations?
He also posted this poll:
Does the Republican Party bear any responsibility for these groups and their actions?
___ No, absolutely not. These groups are independent of the GOP.
___ Perhaps the GOP indirectly encourages them a little.
___ Somewhat: the GOP intentionally encourages them, but does not control them.
___ Yes, the GOP encourages these groups and exercises some control over them.
___ Yes, absolutely. These groups are a militant outgrowth of the GOP.
These silly people always frame their opposition as being from the GOP. They truly haven't a clue. I am proud to say that I have been on the enemies list of three consecutive White Houses now and I haven't been a supporter of the so-called Republican Party for more than a decade. It is most amusing for him to ascribe to me the adoption of seeing the enemies of the Founders' Republic as "the Other," when that is what collectivists of all stripes have been doing to us for decades.
But ole J.C. represents the but the tip of the Daily Kos' spleen. The comments are as hysterical as they are reflexive and stereotypical. Go and read. I haven't the space to do it justice.
LATER: I wrote the silly man back and thanked him for the publicity as follows --
My thanks for your posting my reply on that bastion of collectivism, The Daily Kos.
I always like to toss a skunk under the beds of those who harbor cherished collectivist misconceptions just to watch them go nuts.
If you do an honest search of my work, you will discover that I am a life-long anti-Nazi and anti-racist, having fought them at street level. My militia friends and me embarrassed the FBI into arresting Michael Brescia, a member of the Aryan Republican Army bank robbery gang, who the Fibbies were allowing to walk the streets of Philadelphia armed and unmolested. If you obtain the book by Dr. Robert Churchill, To Shake Their Guns in the Tyrants' Face, you will find that the militias carried out their own little anti-terror campaign with the neoNazis after OKC.
Your obsession with the GOP is ludicrous on its face as is your silly attempt to link the constitutional militias to them.
You have swept away the GOP politically. My sin is in pointing out how little that truly avails you. You have us surrounded now, you poor bastards. You'll have to deal with real people now, not corrupt politicians. Try to adjust your thinking to the new reality.
PS Your buddies on the Krotch make the mistake of thinking that the Army will do your bidding, no matter how unconstitutional the order. You DO know that soldiers take an oath to the Constitution? It is not a Fuehrer Oath. See the blog Oath Keepers if you don't believe me.
well, well. bright lights!
he gets spooked and where does he run? the pack. the safety of the group. should i be surprised?
"Establishing a mindset that labels a target group as an 'other' is a key step in justifying violence towards that group."
reminds me of bart and lisa simpson swinging their arms and legs around and steadily approaching one another, yelling something like, "i'm just going to do this and it would be too bad if someone happened to get in my way!"
only, apparently only lisa here is playing that game, because bart is busy strolling around gun shows to make sure he can save both their asses when the hammer drops.
He must have deleted your comment.
Like you say, they extrapolate from their own cowardice.
More power to you. Reminds of that post by a LTC regarding guns on base when he called the powers to be, in so many words, pitiful little Commissars.
It's Hilarious! Hysterical! Laugh Out Loud Funny! The feel-good post of the year! ( Sounds like a movie review!)
This is terrific! "Report him to the FBI", whimpers one Daily Kosivist."Remember Oklahoma City!" shreiks another! "Automatic weapons!!" howls another! I laughed out loud at these gutless imbeciles. And their sheer perversion of logic is equally amusing - Mike quotes THEIR useful idiot from the Birmingham News article, in which THEIR mouthpiece declares THEIR intent of hostile action, with THEIR 'army', and the pinhead POS libtards all write in a manner to make Mike seem like the one making the threats!
You just can't make this stuff up!!!
Oh, btw - if the Feebs DO show up, see if they can ask Lon Whore-a-hootchie a question for me. How many unarmed women & kids has he murdered lately?
J.C. asks, "What if anything should be done about right-wing militia groups organizing in the open with a clear intention to wage war against their fellow American citizens?"
I would suggest they start exercising ALL of their Natural Rights enumerated and protected in the Bill of Rights, or as Marshall Cogburn said, "Fill your hands, you son of a bitch!" LOL
Wow. I just read the comments over there. They are chasing their own tails! It never crossed their minds that there could exist non-partisan patriots, loyal only to the Constitution and freedom.
If they only had a notion about how many of us are current and former members of the agencies they are relying on to destroy us! LOL! Mike, when you called them clueless, that pretty much summed it up.
I dropped this one on JC from Richmond--thanks for the lead Mike. JC Bystrom
I am first and foremost an American. I have willingly fought on foreign battlefields for this nation, to protect it from aggressors ranging from the Soviet Union to Islamic terrorists. In my younger years patrolled the streets of your city Richmond, Virginia, from Dinwiddie Avenue on the north to Belle Meade Road in the South, and from Commerce Road on the East, to Jefferson Davis Highway on the west. Today, I find my beloved country in the worst shape I can remember. Not because of the actions of my fellow citizens, whose labor and industry have held us so far, but by politicians who seek to gain and hold power, through redistribution of wealth through political favors, and in the name of compassion to those who do not have the gumption to work. The government has destroyed the wealth of this nation by allowing the Federal Reserve to print and place massive amounts of currency into circulation, thus destroying the value of the United States Dollar. The policies of Republicans and Democrats alike have left this nation on the verge of financial collapse and ruins. The policies of both parties but primarily Democrats have left the poor of this nation to become dependent clients of the state, with enough to get by and with no hope for prosperity. The politicians of this nation have devalued our citizenship by allowing unfettered immigration at the economic expense of its own citizens. The politicians of this nation have entered into treaties that have placed this nation at distinct disadvantage, which have threatened the livelihood of all our people. The list is long and continuous, but in short the politicians and the government have ignored the constitution by failing to secure our rights and failing to act in the best interest of our people.
Now comes this new administration continuing the trends of the previous governments, at an accelerated pace. Knowing that the American People are resistant additional taxes for the operation of an already bloated government, this new administration sends out hoards of political operatives and organizers to make sure I support the president’s plans to confiscate more cash and obligate the American People to more debt. Using political operatives in door to door canvassing is the same tactic used historically by the Soviet communists and the Nazi Party and by third world dictators today. This new government seeks to further bind us to massive amounts of debt, to pay for the support of new government offices, commissions and programs. These programs do nothing but enslave our weakest, by reinforcing their dependency on the government for all their needs. All this comes with a bill to be paid by the common citizen, the working men and women of this nation. This new government must be opposed and the actions of the Representative from Minnesota are to be commended. Finally a Member of Congress that will look tyranny in the eye and call it as it is.
We here in this country, seek to be left alone with minimum interference from any government. We seek relief from the confiscation of our wealth to support the special interests of the politician. If the American people continue to be pushed by a government that has no restraint, a revolution is inevitable. I for one have felt this coming and have reluctantly accepted the fact that the future of America may indeed see another civil war, another American Revolution. Although I pray to the Most High God that this never occurs, I can most assure you that I am prepared today, with arms, and more importantly with an attitude and demeanor in the tradition of the Americans at Lexington and Concord, who resisted and overthrew the British at Lexington, Concord, and fields all over the colonies. The tyranny that existed in 1775 is replicated today. While it is my hope and prayer that this shall not come to pass, I am, and many others are prepared for the worse.
J.C. Wilmore is an obvious kissin' cousin to Morris Dees.
It's interesting what they've done there. You made a statement that kinda, sorta, fits their stereotype of "racist militia hater". They then applied that stereotype to you, and proceeded to criticize all the qualities they assume you must have based on that template.
Isn't that pretty much the definition of bigotry?
And they think you're the one who has lost touch with reality.
Teehee. I love how he accused you of other-izing anyone right after he got done saying the entire Republican party should be treated as a "clear and present danger to the United States" based on a metaphor from one Representative. Do the Kosmonauts have any opinions on other people which aren't a projection of their own neurosis?
Anyhow, congrats on being featured in their two minutes hate.
The collectivist parasite is powerless against those of us who refuse their claims on our individuality. They do not understand that we do not accept their claims, nor do we accept their sanctions against our beings. We do not have to submit to their demands on our liberties or our work. When the individual asserts his or her individuality against the parasite, they are left without any means to wreak their havoc. The individual can only be destroyed by the collectivists to the extent that they allow the collectivists to hold their sanctions upon them. The individual must assert their rights to themselves, and if need be, force is an option.
Dollars to Doughnuts, I don't think many of us vote Republicrat. Ignore the dumb ones. I'm sorry I didn't contribute to the "great ammo shortage of 2008-2009 by fear buying because I've been keeping decent stocks and reloading components since the nancy-boy rump rangers, err... NRA, foisted Clinton on us.
Those who don't fear God, respect the law, or respect the inalienable rights of others - understand clearly the sound of a round being chambered.
I say, "good on ya." I only wish I had 1/10 the talent for getting under the skin of these self righteous prigs as you do.
The reason why we WILL have a war is because these clowns project their own cowardice onto everyone else. They will meekly comply with any edict from the government and assume that we also MUST comply. They have no idea that some people are INDIVIDUALS and not just cogs in the collectivist machine.
The pace of their tyranny has increased DRAMATICALLY since the election - as has their hate-filled rhetoric. Not a day has gone by since the inauguration where our liberty has not been assaulted. We are very patient, but we are not cowards.
They have mistaken our patience for cowardice and that will be their undoing. It is our sacred DUTY to resist these petty tyrants at every turn - we all know this and we don't have to be told - it is just who we are.
Let them fire the first shot but once it starts, let us not rest until the Republic is restored.
Mr Bystrom, I'm glad to know there are good law enforcement people and former LEOs like you out there. You eloquently state our case. I wonder if the Richmond Democrat has the guts to let your comment remain. It shows them for what they are, liberty-hating alarmists and useful idiots.
I too hope these matters can be settled without violence. When colorful LANGUAGE is grounds for recommending execution, as one apparently serious RD commenter did, it's possible to feel the static charge in the air. The first lightning strike can't be long away.
I too have been aware and prepared for many years. I would not leave this battle to my grandchildren, who have known no other presidents but Bushes and Clinton. Their lives are ahead of them: careers, love, family. Those should be their main concerns, not defending freedoms that our own parents and grandparents were so comfortable in that they didn't notice the shaving off here, erosion there, outright theft behind their backs.
The opposition twists our statements and deliberately misreports our intent. They may sway public opinion against us as "domestic terrorists" but many a righteous cause has had its Vidkun Quisling, its Benedict Arnold, its Judas. We are constitutionally sound, informed, armed and trained. If they will not condescend to give us (back) liberty, we can get up and get it ourselves. We know the answer to "A republic -- if you can keep it."
Isn't it odd that the 60's liberals, who vented, violently at times, over the establishment government, the police, and the military, are now proposing using all three of those power levers to create their utopia and to make sure everyone complies with all the rules of their proposed utopia. Talk about hypocrites.
The best form of flattery is those who denounce you.
Welcome to the big time, keep up the good work.
I just finished reading the book, "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross. I highly recommend it to all constitutional patriots.
Wonder what they thought of the OathKeepers.com site?? he, he.
They should realize that we're through backing up. I have no desire to effect destruction and misery upon my beloved country but if they give us no other choice:
If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government. — Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist (#28)
I would strongly recommend "The Last Centurion" by John Ringo for a near future picture of an out of control President under a nanny state US in time of crisis. John does an especially good job of telling the story from a military perspective with an interesting take on how the Joint Chiefs would handle an attempt to subvert the constitution. Does a fair job as well on the issues of Global Warming and pandemic disease control.
Paladin, I was going to say something about the choice of your quote, but I don't want to get into that whole thing, again. We've gone through that on this site before.
Perhaps a state constitution would be better:
New Hampshire Constitution, part I, Article 10:
"Whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind."
+1 on the "Oh No, John Ringo!" book -- a very fun and fast read. A lot closer to Potential Truth than it is to Potential Fiction, in my mind ...
Give 'em Hell, Mike!
I'm sorry Tom, I don't understand what "that" is that you didn't want to get into, again. I got the quote from the Keep and Bear Arms site. As far as I can determine it's accurate. ???
Hm. With all the vitriol over there in the Kos article and its comments, you'd think that at least one of the faithful would have come over here and put us all in our place, huh?
Or is their standard, insipid PSH and a few weight jokes all the game they got?
Frankly, I'd encourage either Paladin or Tom to go over and make the point that even Hamilton would find Mike's point of view legitimate. (Extra points for offering that Jefferson would almost certainly have opened fire long ago, the dang "domestic terrorist.")
Wow, excellent comment and reply, Mike! Unfortunately that collectivist fool would see no further than the garbage that has been force-fed into his brain by the Nanny State.
I am not surprised Mike's comments were deleted. I posted a single pro-gun comment on a liberal site once, and I was banned immediately. LMAO.
QUOTE "What if anything should be done about right-wing militia groups organizing in the open with a clear intention to wage war against their fellow American citizens?" QUOTE
No, listen up you sorry scum. Our only intentions are to PROTECT our COUNTRY THAT WE CALL HOME, and DEFEND IT'S TIMELESS CULTURE AND TRADITIONS. We want to be able to ENJOY OUR HERITAGE AND CUSTOMS WITHOUT BEING HARASSED AND BULLIED. In other words, we don't wage war on ANYONE. However, if you keep TRAMPLING on our rights, YOU have waged war on the Constitution, the law of the land and true Americans who abide by them. Understand?
What an idiot this J.C. Wilmore is liberal weenie is.
An elected official uses perfectly good, clear English and he's got a problem with that?
The statement made was simple, but obviously is way above his IQ.
On another note, does it puzzle anyone else that the collectivists seem quite happy for the proletariat to revolt so long as they are led by an approved leader and set of rules, but the thought of the same uppity peasants starting their own revolution, for their own protection and liberty, sends them into instant PSH?
It's a good thing that the Chosen Ones' positions at the top of the heap, after all has been collectivized (you know, since "we're all socialists now"), is so secure. I mean, with so many arms to twist during the creation of Utopia, things could get out of hand.
(Oh, you say that's never happened before? But you just said that "our guys are different". Which is it? Oh, I see, I just don't understand. Well, that settles it then.)
The comments on that site are simply the moans of elation and pleasure issued by those who are absolutely HIGH on their daily prescribed dose of collectivist opium.
While these mental orgasms may be funny to read, they show the rest of us just how dependant and sedated they are on their opium. They are like the stupefied, and heavily drugged subjects in the Apple Computer "1984" commercial. Zombie-like, almost.
In Anthony Burgess's "A Clockwork Orange", there was a description about the man who was taking repeated doses of a powerful psychoactive drug..."his face was no longer human. It resembled, a THING".
Clearly the patrons of that hazy and delusional propaganda-opium den has became "clockwork oranges". They have became machines, incapable of rational thinking. It is sad, and frightening, to see the effects of this indoctrination at work.
The massive clouds on the horizon are approaching at an even faster rate. I can hear the distant sounds of thunder coming just another mile closer to this hill I am standing upon.
May God bless us all, for what is about to come.
I must say I just enjoyed copy and pasting you comments and submitting them back the the marxist. I doubt your words will re-appear, but it should put a burr under his saddle over the morning coffee.
maybe everyone could join in the fun, and tip his tu-tu into a full tilt flame war.
I am highly entertained that they think that the majority of the military and police forces would fight on their side should the lightening actually strike.
What a bunch of cementheads. These guys wouldn't know sedition if they tripped over it.
So let me get this straight: what Congresswoman Bachmann said should be considered sedition, but 8 years of Bush-bashing - to the point that someone made a movie glamorizing the idea of assassinating a sitting president - is not?
Utterly. Flipping. Hopeless.
Can we secede now? Please?
