BOYCOTT US AIRWAYS.

Here's what the bastards are saying about their recent misadventure of shunting me from one failure to another leaving me high-and-dry (and costing me two one-way car rentals) to the person who purchased the tickets:
The airline said you could've gotten on the first flight and been late which was due to "act of God". The second one they claimed you were late. In either case they said I was not entitled to a refund. It is what it is.
By the way, I was in time to catch that second plane by more than a half hour. The person who bought me the tickets is out to the tune of more than $1600.00. I get about 10,000 page views per day on this blog. Surely we can take at least ten times that amount out of US Airways' hide by refusing to fly them. Register your agreement to do so in the comments below.

I don't fly much, but if I do, it won't be with US Airways.

Besides, if one wants to move about the country un-noticed, it's best to go to ground anyway. And not with a rented car!

This group needs to have several reliable, donated vehicles stashed around the country for use by the founder so he doesn't have to advertise on corporate/government databases that he is on the move.

Next time Mike needs to go someplace, somebody close by needs to get him a private vehicle to use, damnit!

And another thing, Mike. You need to stop advertising YOUR planned movement around the country on this blog. Advertise the event, but all of us already know you are likely to be at the bigger, more important events. There's no need for the Feds to know your timing and itinerary. You know as well as I that they pay some government mook to monitor this site.

I boycotted all air travel shortly after 9/11. Never been much on having grown men fondle the family jewels nor get their closet homosexual jollies from looking at my body parts on their porno scanners. Ain't real fond of radiation either from their scanners.

Will do, been only using Southwest for years now except of course if I'm going where Southwest doesn't fly. In those instances I will certainly NOT consider the thieving bastards US Airways.

Best way to inform them is with a FAX or physical letter stating our intention not to fly their airline. Letters are so rare (compared to emails - which are merely deleted by lower level functionaries) that they'll be noticed. FAXes less so, but if they're sent to the right office, they'll be noticed too.

The thing to do is spend a little extra on certified and RESTRICTED DELIVERY mail to the CEO. S/He is supposed to sign for it personally, not have it picked up by a secretary. But at least you'll have a signature of somebody in the office. Marketing bean counters know that, statistically speaking, every one of those letters that somebody took that amount of time and trouble to make sure it got to the intended recipient, represents a larger number of other people who aren't going to bother. But all those others won't be flying their airline, and each letter represents a larger amount of lost revenue.

Point out exactly what happened, their flimsy excuses, and the number of site hits/day. Maybe a permanent link to the postings off to the side on the front page is appropriate?

We have boycotted all airlines since TSA showed up. During my one and only contact with TSA I found them to be so despicable and unprofessional that I decided to make other arrangements from then on. Consequently, my wife and I have seen a lot more of our beautiful country close up and enjoyed long drives together.

But if I ever must fly due to an emergency of some kind, I'll certainly make sure it's not with US Airways.

Dave said...

For me, boycotts are for life. I've been boycotting Ben and Jerry's for supporting the cop killer for years, I quite buying Levi Strauss jeans years ago due to their anti-Second Amendment funding, etc. I could go on. So long forever, US Airways. You are now at the tippy top of my boycott list.

Anonymous said...

I don't fly at all these days but I will certainly put the word out to boycott these pecker heads!
And I agree that we should be able to get private vehicles for Mike to use if he needs one.

Remember, US Airways is merged with American. The former CEO of US Airways is Doug Parker. Who now runs American. So if you boycott US Airways and fly American you messed up. Avoid both. I have American for years. Won't fly them for any reason. I had my business not use them. Cost them 46 business trips. All were next day or two departures. In other words, full fare tickets. I hope my efforts helped them into bankruptcy.

I don't fly often. I won't use US Airways when I do fly. Keep up the good work. Love the blog.

They just lost $33,400!

No plans here since they also committed the sin of merging with the Nazi's of the air. I have a lot of personal/professional dealings with this company and they will never get a dime of my money. "Am ER EK An" Airlines is the Luftwaffe incarnate. Worst corporate culture of any airline going merged with another loser company....hope this last flush finally takes them down the toilet bowl. If it does, it couldn't happen to a stinkier bunch of collective turds.

tetrahertz radiation sounds scary..in fact, they want it to sound scary.

it's just a heat lamp and a thermal imager. tetrahertz radiation is long wave infrared, same as what comes out of a heat lamp.

I love to fly. I'd go all over the place if I could afford it... and we lived in a free country. Shortly after 9/11 I decided that I would not consider any commercial flight again, until I'm offered complimentary ammo for my carry gun.

US Airways has no more chance of getting my business than any other airline, but I'm certainly with you in spirit.

And I second the idea that private transport, ground if necessary, should be the order of the day. Don't advertise where and when you are going, Mike. Make them work for it at least. :)

You liked them at one time lol.

Lost cost carriers? Southwest is the only one I trust.

I still may buy a US Airways flight once in a blue moon. Oh, they suck...I know that. But they are cheap.

Mike, call Reservations and get the address for Passenger Refunds, and write a detailed letter with date, times, destinations, flight info, etc. Make copies of your ticket and correspondence before you send it in. The detailed letter should describe the situation and any names of people you contacted at the time, and that you want a refund due to unforeseen delays or difficulties. They may even let you change the ticket for a later dated flight or other arrangement. I talked to some one who works at American, and she said you should be able to resolve this matter favorably with a little attention to detail and calm discussion.

When I was a FAM, I always hated flying U.S. Airways and I was based at one of thier hubs!!! Those folks gave two shits about the flying publuc. They also tried to phuck with us on occasion. One example, back in 2005 my partner and I were late connecting thru Philly due to crappy weather. As we get to the gate, the agent is closing the jet way door. She stated we were to late as everyone boarded and she had "given" our seats away. I instructed her to open the door or I was arresting her for interference with a Federal Agent. She complied. We scanned our tickets, went down the jet way, the airplane door was still open, so we went in. The flight attendants were courteous, but said the gate agent upgraded two pax to our seats. I said that's fine, we'll send them back to thier original seats. I went to my seat, looked down at the gentlemen and said, Hey sport, get the fuck out of my seat! He complied rather quickly. My partner just looked at his guy and pointed back to cattle class. He moved out quickly. Our cover was blown, but that was a very well behaved flight.

After leaving the FAMs in 07, I have flown exactly three times. TSA is useless, and I won't subject myself nor my family to their bullcrap.

Just a tip. If you are being harrassed by the Thousands Standing Around. Ask to speak to the FSD, or the AFSD. They are the top two folks in charge of airport security. TSA answers to them, and fear them. Tell them how your being treated. On the spot correction should occur.

I gave up flying completely years ago because Delta Airlines screwed me out of a refund on a ticket for one of my son's friends. Any of them always have an excuse to rip you off and keep your money, so I don't fly anywhere anymore.

In addition to that, their employees are self-important assholes for the most part, and have the poorest manners possible. And if you say anything to them, they pop their chops real fast with the bull shit, 'I'll call security on you'. They're rude and instigate situations, and then hide behind security or the Gestapo thugs because they're personally chicken shit cowards with big mouths.

If every U.S. Airline in the country went belly up tomorrow, I'd consider it a Public Service.

I find it pretty amazing that even with all the government subsidizations for airports and other things, that the U.S. Airline companies never make enough money to provide the services and things to customers they used to. They're constantly in financial trouble.

On the other side of the coin, it seems that about all of the foreign airline companies are doing very well, even though they still provide in flight meals and in many cases free drinks. And they have better service and courteous employees to boot.

If at all possible, drive to where you're going.

I fly regularly for business. I find that for most trips I have options from several airlines and I pick based on type of aircraft/seat quality. It won't be that hard to simply ignore US Airways. I also know the woman who arranges most of the travel for our office (around 200 people). I prefer to book my own, but most folks don't want to be bothered. She's a country girl and pretty like-minded. They'll lose a few flights a month from us alone.

They don't care. None of them do because they do not face competition that will put them out of business. Gubmint has air superiority. The only answer is to just refuse to fly at all. Until that happens, it's status quo.

See just the other day folks get on a plane to fly 30 minutes and NINE HOURS LATER they were still sitting on the Tarmac!! They were literally PRISONERS! They couldn't get off the plane even if they agreed not to be refunded their tickets.

The thread winning comment is up thread a bit -
Where is all that MONEY from the freedom loving Rich folks???? Where is the private jet use? Where's the funding for our fight for Liberty?

Ahh the truth comes out that explains the Republican Party controllers - they LOVE the votes but once they get them they just use that power to secure their own money. Screw Liberty right? RIGHT GLEN BECK? Right SEAN HANNITY? Right RUSH FRIGGIN LIMBAUGH? Right Laura Ingram? Right?

Face it folks, we are indeed on our own.

Now, I suggest this-
Mike doesn't have the option of not announcing travel plans so he has to announce more details and more in the moment. The only way this doesn't continue is to REAL TIME their asses! With video and time stamps.

There ain't ONE true freedom fighter with real WEALTH that could handle travel for Mike V? Not ONE ??? Not Smith and Wesson? Colt? Magpul? Stag? Sig? Glock? NOBODY? Not one company? Not one executive millionaire among them? No combination of executives among them?

You know what would light a fire up under their asses?
Instead of buying their products we boycott THEM. For say two months, we let every spent brass, every bullet, every powder container, every pisol, every rifle, every shotgun, every 22lr SIT ON THE SHELF!!! The daily message sent - we will not comply (with being screwed over by the manufacturers and retailers who want US to fight for their business survival whole they profit handsomely and contribute nothing to the fight to protect the right THEY profit so handsomely from.

Oh wait - where is the NRA and SAF? Even GOA?
Take a good look folks, all the advocacy groups are doing is sucking up the money, making it HARDER to actually win this fight. So STOP FUNDING THEM. Start funding grassroots style. Buy USED arms and give them to friends and family - it's money far better spent than any dollar to new product purchases much less funding the gun control groups like SAF and NRA.

Forget US airways. That boycott won't even be seen or felt. Galvanize gun owners to lock their wallets, together, for two months - now THAT will be felt!

They will not get my family's business. A complaint was also filed on their website.

Often, a negative review on a site such as Yelp, which rates all types of businesses, may have the desired effect.

I usually travel by rail if I can. I do not have the time constraints most people do, avoid the TSA groping, and have a place to sleep if behind schedule. I guess I'm old fashioned.

US Airways screwed me the last time I flew also....and THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I'LL EVER FLY PERIOD. Was left stranded in Dulles airport in DC all night because they cancelled a night flight....what a fucking shithole that airport is. Not even a comfortable chair to sit in or enough shitty chairs period for the amount of people in the place, One Dunkin Donuts concession open.....with a line of 300 people all night and two of the most incompetent people running it that I've ever seen.

US Airways can go piss up a rope.

I've decided that from now on, if I cannot drive there, I'm not going. I have no desire to leave the country so that makes the continental US pretty accessible.

Anonymous said...

I boycotted US Airways after we caught them attempting to steal a declared and checked pistol by removing us from the airplane (based on a story that we'd be too late for our connecting flight) before takeoff, then refusing to return the checked bag in question. We finally had to call the police to compel them to "find" the luggage containing the pistol in a pile of lost luggage in Phoenix, 4 days later. By the way, we were never scheduled to fly through Phoenix.
