Reality Check: Atlanta Police Illegally Stockpiling Confiscated Guns?

Ten THOUSAND plus firearms.

So, who at the police department is tasked with selling off the weapons? Who set their operating procedures? How big is the operating budget for this sales & distribution activity...

Oh, a legislature passed a feel good law requiring that someone undertake an activity, but with no set procedure to follow, or apportioning of required funding? THAT never happened before!

Agree that the city & police department are illegally sitting on their hands, but they would need a couple of full time people to deal with inventory management and sales if they followed the law. Would a couple of full time gun store employees be covered by sale of around 3,000 randomly chosen used guns per year?

This is Obama's legacy. Open corruption in defiance of the law.

If the law means nothing to them, it means nothing to me, or anyone else.

Good to know, if/when the time comes.

{yawn} What part of this is in ANY way surprising? Statists do not respect the law. The "pig" subspecies of LEO consider themselves to BE the law. And note that the female (black) reporter seems entirely in support of what the authorities in Atlanta are doing. She seemed to me to be arguing that even if the city WAS breaking state law, if it keeps guns off the streets isn't that a GOOD thing?

How many of those guns are being sold to criminals?

DON'T tell me, "none".

pull my other leg.
