This looks interesting. "The banker behind Hitler’s shadow empire."

Hjalmar Schacht was the most powerful minister in Germany, an economic "wizard" with a destructive plan for growth.

This, too, looks like a must read. "Other People's Money."

Chiu ChunLing said...: Unfortunately, our economy can no longer withstand honest scrutiny of our finances. Moving to end subsidized underwriting of bad financial institutions isn't going to nudge them back towards responsibility, it can only collapse the system entirely.

A collapse is inevitable one way or another. That's not the problem.

This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. The Founders' Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.
