Romney had a D- rating from GOA. To say that I'm concerned, would be an understatement. The three best candidates from a gun rights perspective are/were, Paul: A+, Bachman: A and Perry: A. Santorum is rated B-. Gingrich is rated C. The Perry campaign is moribund. Bachman is gone. Paul is...well let's just leave it at that. Gingrich has engaged in a deplorable attack on economic liberty. At this point that leaves me with Santorum.
Mitt Romney is the Republican Barack Hussein Obama.
Both of them are anti-gun. Both of them support the Individual Mandate and socialized healthcare. Both of them abuse their executive power (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBXe3Kvg-qU&feature=channel_video_title ).
If Obama wins, he will get a second term. If Mitt Romney wins, then it will for all intents and purposes STILL be Obama's second term, because there is no difference between them.
Who the GOP nominates is utterly moot. I fully expect the Dhimmicrats to use every dirty trick in the book (as well as a few made up special for this election) to keep Obama in office. Of course that presupposes that there actually IS an election come next November. More'n one way that the election could fail to happen.
The system is well and truly FUBAR. There is no way to fix it. No going back. From where I sit there are only two alternatives - descent into a gray, Soviet-style state or a rebellion leading to the end of the world as we know it.
Herr Romney is nothing but .... John McCain II without the support of the military and a strong defense.
We are being handed our asses and we don't even realize it. He is a strong "progressive" no matter the wind direction. As I have said before .... this election does not mean anything, we are screwed no matter who is in the White House. The march to the "workers paradise" continues .....
It's been said here before that the Right Wing and the Left Wing in DC are both attached to the same bird of prey. If you drew a harpy eagle in full threat display posture and labeled those wings Romney and Obama you would not be far off the mark.
While I agree with what David wrote, I don't think it matters.
I am going to vote for the Republican nominee. Period. Why? Only based on probability. The R guy might nominate better Supreme Court appointees. We know what Obama will do.
(Aside: Romney is a typical pol. Nothing special, like GWB, a placeholder, no principles, will blow with the wind.)
When it comes to gun legislation, the key is the Congress. We need more Ron Paul/Tea Party/Constitutionalists in the Congress. That is where the action is.
It helps to have low (realistic?) expectations from these people.
