Drone Diplomacy: Comply or Die

All the money is on cyber intel (to generate targets based on "signatures") and drones to kill them. When domestic unrest occurs in the US due to economic decline, these systems will be ready for domestic application. Oh joy.

Man can defeat what man creates.

Adapt or die. All these do is make the guerrilla adapt different tactics, or sustain higher losses. Drones likely greatly curtain rural guerrilla ops. Fine. Move forward.

The principles are the same; the tactics must change.

We can learn a lot from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Those malnourished goatherds are still fighting a guerrilla war against the most high-tech military in history.

With AKs, RPGs, Mosin Nagants, and sandals.

Technology works both ways. There are already drones working for private individuals. Maybe not killer drones - yet - but even kids are flying them. One little airplane with a decent camera can keep tabs on a lot of real estate, and is very affordable.

And as AP said, with all the new technology, a bunch of rag-heads are fighting off the (once-)most powerful military in the world. Imagine what us locals can do with the technology we already own.
