Hannah graduates from Southern Miss today.

My oldest daughter Hannah graduates from Southern Miss today. Her mother will be in attendance, I will not. I'm proud as I can be, though.
Her degree is in business and she did it all on her own, having gone through on pretty much a full ride because of her skills as a soccer goalkeeper. She's going to take the summer off by playing semi-pro soccer in Iceland, expenses paid, and then intends to go to law school.
Hannah and a borrowed M38 carbine. She subsequently got an M44 of her own. (Apologies for the original misidentification and thanks to the sharp-eyed readers who spotted it.)
Intelligent, beautiful, tough-minded, driven -- didn't get it from my side of the family. Still I'm as proud as a frog eatin' fire, as they say in Winston County.

Congratulations to you, your daughter, Hannah, and your entire family, Mike. We need all of the strong, tenacious and smart young people we can get these days. I hope that she receives many blessings in her life.

Congratulations, Hannah.

Wear your pride well, Mike. I hope she does well in law school.

Is she on our Olympic team?

Again, welcome back.

All that, AND she shoots an M44??!!
Color me very very impressed.
It will be interesting to follow her exploits through life.
Mike, you and Rosie have done A Good Thing. Be proud of your progeny. (But don't break your arm patting your own back).
Good to see that you're back in the game.

Congrats to Hannah and best of luck playing in Iceland; got a midfielder of my own that I hope does so well. I gotta ask though: is that an M44 or an M38 in the picture? Kinda hard to see if there's a fixed bayonet...

Well, Steve pretty much said it all. I know you're very proud of your Hannah.

I'm Sorry your recovery's been such a bumpy road.
That really sucks.

It's great to see a gal training with an M44. I've got a couple and let me say: it's not the kind of gun you just plink with!

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Hannah and your whole family! I know she will have some great experiences in Iceland. I hope she will complete her legal training and maybe become a great defense lawyer for defendants charged with bogus gun law violations. Or, if she wants to make a better living, she can become one of the few litigation trial lawyers who does NOT contribute to the democrats.
Best to all,

Mike: That is an M 38 Carbine, unless you removed the bayonet..

Congrats to you and her. Hope she's as wiley as her old man and interprets law as the founders intended. I have a feeling she will.

Hell of a girl, that Hannah! Not just the schooling, but shooting an M-44. I own one and have threaten to bury it in the ground. Not to keep it safe from potential confiscation, just because it's the ONLY gun I've ever hated. It kicks like a mule and the accuracy, compared to my 91-30, stinks. Maybe the Russians knew that, so they equipped it with a fixed bayonet so it'd have some reasonable function. Still, Hannah shows a lot of heart standing up to it. Congrats to her!
