Jeb Bush channels Kerodin and volunteers for the Department of Pre-Crime, Infanticide Division. "Jeb Bush On Whether He'd Kill Baby Hitler: 'Hell Yeah, I Would!'"
Jeb Bush demonstrates once again what an unprincipled intellectual light-weight he is: Have you ever wondered whether, if given the opportunity, Jeb Bush would go back in time to kill Adolf Hitler in his crib? Well, wonder no more. “Hell yeah, I would!” the former Florida governor told HuffPost. “You gotta step up, man.”
Apparently too stupid to challenge the false construct of the question, the allegedly pro-life Bush enthusiastically embraced infanticide as a solution for collectivist tyranny. In this, he has channeled the sociopathic ex-con Kerodin who made a similar statement some time ago. Let's examine the premises of the question:
1. First, there is this central conundrum: if time travel is possible and history can be changed, then how can you know about it in the future since it is no longer history?
2. You must accept that the infant Hitler (and all the other murdering collectivist butchers throughout history) to have been born irredeemably and innately evil. Now certainly we are all born in sin, but the personalities of future dictators can be more readily explained by experiences at the hands of abusive parents and other awful life circumstances. In other words, even if you can get around the central conundrum of time travel then couldn't the Holocaust have been equally prevented by the removal at birth of infant Hitler into a loving home where his biological father didn't beat him and where he wasn't later forced by economic necessity to become a homosexual prostitute in Vienna? (See the book, The Hidden Hitler.) Sounds silly, perhaps, but if you have the opportunity to slaughter the infant you also have the opportunity to change the stream of history by operating a trans-time adoption agency.
3. Reducing the moral responsibility for genocide to one lone individual is ludicrous on its face. Genocides are committed by a multiplicity of individuals comprising the vast bureaucratic committees of collectivist governments, who proceed about their killing for shared reasons of their own. Absent Hitler, given the same resentments and social fevers caused by the onerous burdens of the Treaty of Versailles and the subsequent failures of the Wiemar Republic exacerbated by the Great Depression that unleashed the historical anti-Semitism of the German people, do you really think that some other Hitler would not have arisen to take his place? And if so, how many infants are you willing to slaughter? And can you be certain that in your arrogant presumption of the role of God, that you wouldn't be unleashing similar horrors? Imagine a Hitler who wasn't anti-Semitic and thus retained the services of the Jewish atomic scientists to build his atomic bomb. Imagine a Hitler smart enough not to invade the Soviet Union until he was ready to nuke Moscow. Imagine a Hitler who didn't get in the way of his own war effort by hobbling the production of jet aircraft until it was too late. How smart does such infanticide seem now?
4. For anyone who claims to be a follower of God and thus devotedly pro-life to unthinkingly embrace preemptive infanticide under such a ridiculous premise neither understands God's purpose nor serves His will. Indeed, explain to me the functional moral difference between Bush's position and a Planned Parenthood partial-birth abortionist? Anyone? Buehler?
I hope one of the other candidates, Carson or Cruz, perhaps, takes this idiotic comment by Jeb and shoves it down his glib, unthinking throat and knocks him out of the GOP race. I'm sick of elitist dynasties of the stupid.

Speaking of that little prick (Kerodin) George Patton just dropped another MOAB on him:

I've been using this ideal to explain homosexuality forever. True for adults and children alike. So when they claim some preteen child is gay, I think "what on earth was done to this child to make them decide this?" They see a 'gay child'...I see a child that was likely abused both physically and mentally. It makes me sick.
But my dear bride is still stuck on homosexuals being born that way. Crikey! This is so much bullshit, even for her and her masters degree in nursing. A genetic error that creates a non-reproducing human is self-correcting. And besides that, God does not make that particular kind of error.
Well done, Mike. Those hours spent reading SF weren't wasted :-)
Exactly right. Bush's comment is a window into how shallow and morally bankrupt his thinking truly is.
See, Mike, this right here exemplifies what makes you such an important influence in these tiresome, twitchy times. Well said!
I'd want to call out one thing that you said, that I know you already understand, but perhaps let slip in the service of your primary point:
"...Bush enthusiastically embraced infanticide as a solution for collectivist tyranny."
"Solution"? Noo. Like pretty much everyone else in this sorry field, he has no real interest in solving collectivist tyranny at all. Hell, he aims to actively and cynically promote it, while denying that it exists when he does it. (It's a long-proven formula for success, after all...)
Given that, in his mind, what's the big deal about an individual butchery in service of the collective?
After all, becoming what you behold is only a problem, if you're not already there.
Agree with 1-4. Same exact thought process I had when I first heard about the question and Jeb's answer a day or so ago.
Do not ask stupid questions and you will not get stupid answers.
WOW. Was probably just a nonsensical, humorous exchange.
But don't lose a chance to call your supposed enemy, a baby killing Nazi (Bush & Bill Nye make strange bedfellows. Only from the fringe.)
"the personalities of future dictators can be more readily explained by experiences at the hands of abusive parents and other awful life circumstances.”
Except for the small but significant percentage of the population whose sociopathy is the result of a chemical and/or neurological deficiency. Yes, some people ARE born with a total or near-total inability to experience empathy for anyone other than themselves; and they can no more be taught to empathize with others than a whale could be taught to walk We don’t have the knowledge required to correct this physical deficiency, either.
The political life itself self-selects for sociopaths, so chances are much greater than average that a Maximum Leader got to where he is specifically because of what he is.
I hope that Ed @ 3.47 won't take me to task for wondering how the patrons of Callahan's Crosstime Saloon would have responded ;-)
Recall also that this is the same Jeb Bush who sat by quietly while one of his constituents was murdered by starvation/dehydration.
"A genetic error that creates a non-reproducing human is self-correcting."
I LOLed :)
Anony at 5:31 You beat me to it; I have thought this man is a spineless, gutless POS since he stood by while Terry Schiavo was slowly murdered by dehydration. I knew her Dad, and Bush the Bastard would not even use his position to get Fr. Pavone past the police lines to take the dying girl a final Communion ( a drop of the consecrated wine). You cannot get any lower than that, so his statements about infanticide are not surprising. Damn his filthy soul to hell.
Hey commie, how are the boils working out for you? Karl would be proud of you, it's all good you won't be around too much longer, I hear your are terminal with the big C. I pray every day for you, the prayers usually are in favor of the CANCER!
The question asked of Jeb was well-answered by Norman Spinrad in "The Iron Dream". Cpl. Hitler immigrates to NYC and becomes an artist/illustrator of fantasy books. No need for time-travel+murder.
Leave it to the NY Times and HuffPost to come up with imbecilic questions for an imbecilic readership. What's Next? "If you could strap on a jetpack and sail through space to pluto, would you do it?". I think they're all living in Fantasyland playing X-Box a little too long. ..And I love how they describe the results of their poll being "a plurality" of readers. No numbers, just "a plurality". Could they be any more vague in Fantasyland?
"A genetic error that creates a non-reproducing human is self-correcting."
I didn't LOL....that's actually quite profound and one of the best arguments I've read concerning born vs. made....especially for those who adhere to the "natural selection process of evolution theory". Kudos to the author.
I imagine what J. E. B. said was a lie, as is so common with the Bush clan, you remember read my lips and so on. Anyway, old Prescott was financing them thar nazis, so why would JEB want to off his granpappys biz partner and co ideologue?
There is little wrong with a private person (who doesn't have access to a time-machine or anything they believe to provide similar knowledge of the future on which to act) making such frivolous statements.
There is quite a bit wrong with such a deeply unserious mindset in someone who is bidding to command the formidable resources of the U.S. government and military.
No, the Federal government doesn't have a time-machine...but they do have a lot of people who make their living based on convincing politicians they know what the future holds. And a man who can't challenge the premise of traveling back in time to kill little baby Adolf won't resist the temptation to preemptively eliminate "threats to national security" as identified by people who never seem to pay any price for being wrong far more often than chance would suggest.
