"Government needs to be more than crass extortion." Sure, but it ain't. The question is, what do we do about it?

A great book that expounds on this train of thought is Lysander Spooner's "No Treason". He understood all this way back in the 1800's, and had more respect for what was then referred to as "Highway Men", because after they robbed you they left you alone - unlike the Gov't...

I have a businesses where I make power electronic equipment mainly for the oil sector. Things like motor drives and speed controls
Ive been doing this for 20 years. About 5 years ago many states started limiting what I could do demanding that I have a electricians license. I can understand the electricians license part for the line power but they want me to have a license now so I can service my own warranties on equipment I manufacture. It would be one thing if I could just send my guys to take a test and get a license but it is not that easy. They want a 4 year course and 4 years of union document experience working on line power. But I and my guys are electronic engineers and techs Not electricians. Its a real joke these days.

It's about control and forcing us to pay. If I want to sell MY stuff on MY OWN property, I have to bribe the city to let me. Likewise when I wanted to put up a storage shed in my own back yard, I had to bribe the city to get permission. It's a racket. Sad part is we let the barstids get away with it.
