From Herschel Smith: "There Is Nothing Better Than An Unregistered Gun."

"I was wrong about Mr. Space, and one can only pray that there are more like them in his neck of the woods. But he made one slight error. Mr. Space shouldn’t hide his guns when the collectivists come to confiscate them. He should serve his fellow men by using his guns to shoot the collectivists in the face."

I have to disagree with Hershel in one respect. Shooting the collectivists (or, more precisely, their minions) in the face only makes sense (to me, at least) if you are using a scatter gun. Otherwise aim for a single button at about nipple-line level. I always aim there whether with a pistol or a long gun. Unfortunately, when shooting a pistol, for some reason, I tend to pull slightly to my right such that 5-7 yards the round winds up about 4" off center. I once took a shot up target to a range instructor and asked him if he knew a quick trick to stop me from pulling my shot right. He said that if I was practicing target shooting he might but since I was practicing defensive shooting, he saw no reason for me to "correct" my problem. Then he held up the target to himself. The hole (I had blown a roughly fist-sized hole with approx. 30rds) was nicely centered over his heart.

Anybody think I should work on that problem?

Well, this is just a question of tactics, isn't it?

And, tactically speaking, Mr. Space can probably waste a hell of a lot more of the regimes time and energy making them look for his guns than he can by shooting them in the face...and then he can serve his fellow man by helping them shooting the collectivists in the back.

Some of us will have to shoot collectivists in the face to give others the opportunity to shoot them in the back, and I've probably already committed myself to membership in the former group...but I in no wise disdain those who remain in the latter, because without them I don't see us pulling this off without a lot more dead in the end.

The heart is right in the middle, behind the sternum, Bad Cyborg. And what if your target is farther away? No, Young Grasshopper; you must learn to hit where you're aiming. -- Lyle

There most certainly IS something better than an unregistered gun; two unregistered guns.

The left has it exactly backwards. Gun restrictions encourage crime and violence. The second amendment is designed to prevent leftists from encouraging crime and violence, but alas we have not enforced it. We have embraced the lie that says good intentions are behind the attempts to disarm Americans. -- Lyle

Mr. Space represents my district of NJ and is a regional hero. He didn't get elected by promoting "common sense" gun control.

Sometimes you need to hide them now, so that you still have them later, when you've got numbers or surprise on your side.

Here's a great way to drive the collectivist bat shit crazy. Take all of you guns off site. Take 3 ft pieces of re-bar and drive them randomly about your yard about 6" below ground level. When they bring their metal detectors to search your yard, pull up a comfortable chair and watch the festivities.

Thanks Anon 6:50 pm, now I know who Mr. Space is. He's the guy who owns "Space Farms", right? I live over the NY border but go down into Sussex quite a bit...Space Farms is a very cool place, as it has antiques of everything from firearms to autos. And Sussex County is one of the few places in NJ I don't mind going to. It's a nice, clean , rural farmland...with maybe even a Sasquatch sighting or two near High Point....Anon 7:11 am.
