Gee, aren't they supposed to PREVENT pollution?

I saw this story this morning and just shook my head. There does not seem to be anything very toxic about this spill, mostly just the color as remarkable. Stuff has been spilling from mines in the west for a very long time. Not good, but not the end of the world either. The "news" folks just like to make everything out to be some sort of catastrophe. If it bleeds, it leads... and bogus "environment" crap sells just as well.

Hey they are just trying to one up the Army Corp. of Engineers. " We from are from the government ". We are here to help" . Behind enemy lines. In Unconstitutional ,collectivist, Ct. We will never comply. Nor stand down. AAA/O. 11B20.

I'm waiting for them to fine themselves $25,000 a day under the Clean Water Act.

And where is pollution or the environment listed as a federal power in the Constitution?

"We typically respond to emergencies, we don't cause them, but this is just something that happens when we are dealing with mines sometimes," EPA Program Director David Ostrander said.

In other words, "Shit happens. Get over it!".

I strongly suggest you not use that line the next time you're face to face with any Federal regulator. While it might feel really good for a few minutes, I guarantee the ultimate outcome will not be to your liking. They tend not to have much of a sense of humor or irony.
