Beretta Argues M9 Upgrade Cheaper Than MHS.
Why am I reminded of this?: We're No Angels, "A Gifted Salesman." Unfortunately for Beretta, that only works in the movies.
That is one of my favorite movies of all time. Thanks for the reminder. F Berretta. We need to get back to U.S.A. designed/manufactured arms. Never liked those open slide pieces of junk.
Elephant in the room that is being ignored: ALL of the Beretta military handguns have a rated service life of 5,000 rounds. After that, replace or do complete rebuild. Any add-ons such as changes of ergonomics and addition of rails etc. do NOT change that. Period.
if you have not seen Wilson Combat's take on the M9, you should. It is a beauty to behold. Changing the plastic oprod and a little trigger work go a long way. Glock and 1911 fanboys love to poo-poo the Beretta, but I have never had an issue with one through many many years abroad.
It may be cheaper but it isn't what's wanted and it probably won't be as effective as the new weapon.
Outside of the military, and without arguing for any caliber other than 9mm Parabellum, would you rather carry an enhanced Beretta 92FS or a SIG P226, P228, P229, or P320? I would choose one of those SIGs.
