Rolling Stone hit piece on Larry Pratt, wherein Dudley Brown ducks & Robert Farago is treated as if he really knows the difference between excrement & shinola.

The Zealot: Larry Pratt Is the Gun Lobby's Secret Weapon
In membership and resources, GOA lags behind not just the NRA, but also newcomers to the hardline scene like Dudley Brown's National Association of Gun Rights. NAGR claims to offer activists the "best bang for your pro-gun buck." But few in the gun-rights movement agree with this claim. "If you take a look at what NAGR actually does with its money, there isn't a whole lot," says Alan Gottlieb. "I don't see NAGR ever turning bodies out or being anywhere, basically. In all the states we're involved in, if we bump into them one out of every 20 times, I'd say that's a lot. GOA is in more places than NAGR is with less resources." (Brown declined to comment for this story.)
As well he might. The other day in Colorado I heard Dudley described as "the Morris Dees of the gun rights movement" -- that is, someone who is simply interested in pimping off a cause for money.
"I would say, yes, Pratt's conservatism will hinder him," says Robert Farago, publisher of TheTruthAboutGuns.com.
Speaking, no doubt, from his long experience in the automotive rights movement, er, ah, I mean the gun rights movement. No doubt that if Eastern European pancakes experience a resurgence in popularity, we can expect a new blog entitled, "The Truth About Blintzes."

This article proves that the statists are scared SHITLESS of Pratt. They are trying their damnedest to marginalize him and anyone who agrees with (but is not led by) him. They are trying to say people that comprise his membership or agree with his ideology couldn't have possibly come to that conclusion any way other than having Pratt dictate it to them. They are so absolutely clueless, they actually believe the liberty movement is all in the heads of a few "leaders" and if they dispense with them, the ideals will just die out.

They repeatedly call Pratt a "liar" without providing a shred of evidence that what he predicts as the logical consequence of all of the various bills he's commenting on is false. See, he's calling these tyrants on their game, and the press doesn't like it. They don't like that he can see through the bullshit and the stated "reasons" for more gun control/restrictions and gets to the heart of the matter; the end goal: a total gun ban, a complete national registry, and eventually confiscation. They act as if, b/c they have not openly stated it....that somehow Pratt doesn't really know that's the real goal.

This quote about Pratt while Reagan was in office is priceless:

"But having a conservative in the White House did not lessen his hatred and distrust of the federal government."

You mean Pratt had the audacity to not accept the false left vs. right paradigm most Amerikans cow to? How DARE he!!!

While Pratt's certainly a religious zealot and IMO, tyrannical in his views on others believing what he does.....the main point the article really wants to make is that he's also a "racist" b/c of his associations....and we all know that being labeled a racist in Amerika today is on par with being a convicted (at least in the court of public opinion) child molester. Conflating Pratt and Randy Weaver with the Christian Identity movement is pure, unadulterated propagandizing...but for the uninformed on Ruby Ridge, I guess it will likely work.

Pratt's stances on many things are simply unacceptable (WoDs, forced religious observance, and interfering in sovereign nations' affairs....to name a few), but one is forced to question just how much the writer with an agenda at Rolling Stone is factually reporting vs. slanting it to demonize his target.

I knew Larry was the real deal when he stood with us at Gravelly Point.

The GOA is probably one of the most tenacious second amendment groups out there, most I know in the group are VERY acvtive in 2A restoration... and thats why I'm a GOA life member.

I am a proud GOA member because I know it's not the biggest civil rights organization but it is certainly the most effective civil rights organization! Larry Pratt is imbued with the fire and spirit that possessed the Founding Fathers and this is what America needs more of.
