Wonder what's up the Fibbies' sleeves?

This is a PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE of a proposed requirement for various commercial "OFF THE SHELF" semi-automatic pistols chambered to fire a 9mm Luger cartridge as defined by SAAMI. This notice is issued solely for informational and planning purposes only.

If I had a clue what this means I could probably form an opinion on it.

Possible $100 million contract for replacement training weapons. Nothing to see here folks, move along, move along!

Anonymous at 10:13 pm, what it means is that the FBI is soliciting for a long-term contract from a gun maker to provide a LARGE number of off-the-shelf pistols in 9 mm.
The contract requirements seem to favor double stack magazine Glocks based upon bbl. length and mag. capacity.
What I'd like to know is if these pistols are actually for the FBI, or if this purchase is a shell buy for F.S.A. bad actors.

The FBI has fewer than 36,000 employees total. At a generous $500 per unit $100 million is 200,000 pistols. What are they up to indeed?

Our stupid government just ordered an additional 100,000 M9 pistols even though they have already announced that the M9 will be replaced by a larger-caliber pistol (after a couple of years or testing). How stupid is that? I'm sure Obama won't allow the turn-in M9s to be sold thru CMP. He will either have them destroyed or sold to other governments. We just LOVE to pay income taxes, don't we?

It's way to keep manufacturers happy via growth in production without the civilian market ownership growing.

It's all about moving numbers around to make certain powerful people happy.

Dems get to cry about gun manufacturers subsidy, and decry guns - while manufacturers laugh all the way to the bank (basically eating some of the taxpayer pie). Plus it's a huge payoff to Germany as a sorry for getting caught spying on you. Yeah yeah yeah Austria.

This is about everyone gaining - except the average joe. For it's the average joe who has to pay for it all. It's a "long train of abuses" on the "eating out their substance" front.
