“Victory in Palmer v. D.C.,” Gura wrote on his website. “Justice never sleeps…. not even on a Saturday afternoon, when this opinion was just handed down.”

That's just great! God Bless Alan Gura. So Happy to have met with him and shook his hand at Gun Blogger Rendezvous in 2008 post Heller.

That's one for us. Let's see if it has legs.

Forgive me for being a pessimist, but I doubt the day will come when I can take my son to the museums in DC while legally carrying.

I had the misfortune of spending years in the DC area, and I'm quite familiar with the natives and their elected leaders. You don't even have the right to stand and fight if attacked, and the natives are very aware of this and act accordingly. I once had around a dozen of them rush me, and I pulled a knife and stood my ground. They backed down. If they had thought to call 911, I probably would have gone to prison.

If concealed carry ever comes to DC or MD, it will be quite fascinating to see how the natives adapt to their new place in the food chain.

This one is gonna create permit issues (for the states) as the court said that outsiders need to have their RKBA honored ... but people travel on short notice ... how they gonna to accommodate them? Can't say a six month or even 1 month process.

I cheered when I saw the headline but then realized the DC regime will make it as difficult, painful and expensive as possible to carry.

Re: difficulty to get a permit... That's what the bastards did in Illinois when they were forced to allow permits..

Ah! The very thought of wandering along Pennsylvania Avenue ... lawfully armed!

D.C. nonresidents do NOT need any permit to carry in the district at this time, unless and until a permitting process is put into place. D.C. residents have to carry a gun that has been previously registered with the city. Be very cautious, many many federal areas and buildings are off-limits by federal statute.
