"The evil that men do lives after them." -- Mark Antony in Julius Caesar. Yeah, women too. (And, as a perceptive reader comments below, Hell is a gun-free zone.)

Sarah Brady, Widow of Former White House Press Secretary James Brady, Dies at 73 "She's not only merely dead. She's really, most sincerely dead."
It is said that we should not speak ill of the dead. This is true, I suppose, even for shameless collectivist constitutional criminals. Okay, so I won't be singing "Ding, dong, the witch is dead."

Submitted for your approval:

Irony Defined.

Exhibit A.

Note if you will, a horrified, bitter, dare-we-say-it...Evil woman. A woman who had fruitlessly spent the last half of her adult life in a selfish, and totally flawed crusade against the most basic of unalienable rights:

The right to own a weapon for one's self defense.

The irony here is that this very same woman NOW realizes that she desperately needs SOME type of weapon. ANYTHING that might possibly have an effect on the clawed, hissing, loathsome horrors now closing in around her.

Sorry, it's a gun free zone.

Joe, I have changed the header in honor of your perceptive comment, for truly Hell is a gun-free zone.

Joe,

If you believe in the Bible....just where does it say that the moment you die you are judged?

I can find it no where. I find the opposite....that we are as if "asleep" awaiting the Savior's return and after his 1000 year reign, resurrection.

What I do see is that we are resurrected to judgment, then given eternal life or the everlasting "punishment" which is likely extinguishing our soul (the final death of the soul) in the "lake of fire" known as Hell.

What kind of just, loving or compassionate god would endlessly torture and torment his creation for an eternity?

If there's such a thing as the hell you describe (and man seems to have invented around 1400)....I pray that no one goes there. I'd not wish that on anyone. The purpose of an execution in this life is to rid society of the problem individual...torturing him previous to that execution really serves little purpose.

"Our main agenda is to have all guns banned. We must use whatever means possible. It doesn't matter if you have to distort the facts or even lie. Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed."

Not to cast a pall (pun intended) over the conversation, but -- one down, a few zillion more standing or coming along behind. Short of the grave that kind never quits.

Safe to say, the concept goes back a little further than that.

In related news, Hell has just placed an offering for bids on ten thousand air deodorizers, one hundred thousand vomit bags and one million folding chairs which may be placed at a greater distance from the newest arrival. Actually, I regret that her grave will be too far away for me to piss on it, but perhaps I can send a specimen bottle to someone and have it deployed properly.

I'll get the 12 pack. You find her grave.

Respectfully,

I'm simply not taking the theological and / or troll, bait.

I.E., this will be my opener and closer, so listen up.

If you sincerely want more information on the infernal regions than your King James bible provides, may I suggest a more detailed, modern account ?

Mary K Baxter's well-known book is 100% free.

Joe,

Respectfully, it wasn't bait....simply a post to get you to consider the alternative from a scriptural standpoint.

I notice you backed your claim for eternal torment, not with scripture...but with 1 witness....something that wouldn't meet the required Biblical standard of 2 witnesses.

Something to ponder.

The only reference I can see to a place of everlasting torment from the Bible is the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man....and yet, that storyline doesn't meet the required 2 witnesses of scripture and is not clear as to it being a literal interpretation.

I'm also going to throw out an unpopular opinion: Sarah Brady was "wrong" in our view about the natural right of self defense...but I don't doubt that she believed she was right and was trying to save lives.

I seriously doubt she was hoping to enslave everyone by making gun ownership illegal. My guess is that she knew the pain of watching her husband become bound to a wheelchair and that through her activism, she also saw plenty of other folks who were victims of predatory violence and she incorrectly correlated those instances of man made violence with the tools used to commit them.

In short, she likely believed her goals to restrict others access to firearms was a noble goal...one that God would approve of (in her mind).

God's justice is perfect. Unlike in this world, ignorance of the law WILL BE an excuse. Unlike as is often (not always) the case in this world, His justice will take into account one's intent.

In light of that fact, along with the fact that we are commissioned to forgive our enemies and love one another....I ask you now, if Yeshua/Jesus asked you today if Sarah should be forgiven, what would be your answer?

Respectfully submitted.

Sean

Brother Joe,

I read your link to Mary Baxter's book....read several "chapters".

There are many contradictory statements to what scripture has to say on the subject of death, resurrection to eternal life, judgement, etc.

Most telling is her chapter on "heaven" wherein she not only tells us of a fabled "pre-trib rapture theory"....that was invented in about 1830 on the "vision" of a young girl in Ireland or England and has no Biblical basis beyond the "catching away" in the air that takes place upon Yeshua's return as believers are transported over to Jerusalem.

Further it talks of resurrected children....and yet the biblical text says Jesus is the only one who has been resurrected to ETERNAL LIFE; not merely resurrected to a living body like Lazurus, et al, only to die again....awaiting judgement.

Don't be deceived.

Good riddance to the festering, puss-filled anti-2nd Amendment quim. I hope the worms anally rape her rotting corpse for decades.

Here's thought, maybe someone will exhume the wretch, prop her up against a backstop and use her carcass for zombie target practice.

We all should engage one another more on these issues of faith. I am not at all hesitant to admit that I am not as schooled in Scripture as some of you. I thank you Sean for your insight. I can tell you the first rifle I ever bought with my own money was an AK. The moment I cradled it in my arms a sudden solemn clarity came over me. I didnt buy it to hunt deer but to protect my home. Its like when you hold your own newborn in your strong arms for the first time and feeling that wave of all things rushing in at once. I felt like I had just been handed Excaliber. i was at a personal crossroads in my life and realizing that this rifle came with awesome responsibility.

I not only have a duty as an American to bear arms in her defense but also to fight boldly and loudly and clearly with my vote and my money.
Can we forgive our enemies?
I cannot answer this. It is hard to have any love for those who would have chains put on me whether they intended to or not. We live in a fallen world you know.
