This would come as a distinct surprise to the Founders. Collectivist trots out the old "resistance is futile" Borgian meme.

"No, Ted Cruz, the 2nd Amendment doesn’t protect your right to rebellion."
America’s standing army in 1787 wasn’t exactly intimidating. By contrast, America’s standing army in 2015 is, and I’m sure Ted Cruz would agree, not to be messed with. An AR-15 doesn’t hold a candle to your local police force; starting beef with the full firepower of the American military with nothing more sophisticated than a semi-auto is like bringing a ham sandwich to a gun fight. If citizens really did rise up and revolt with the guns currently available, they would lose and lose badly.
Try it and watch what happens. The only thing is, don't expect to be able to hide and watch and merely cheer on the forces of government repression as a spectator at the next American civil war, Mr. Green. 4GW civil war is a bitch, especially for those who advocate it and who lay the intellectual groundwork for government murder of the citizenry.

I keep wondering just what makes the libtards think that the "full might of the US military" will be on THEIR side.

Courtesy of his bio, I discovered Jon Green is not only a collectivist, but also received 'high honors' in 'Political Cognition'(???) and was a Regional Field Director for Obama's 2012 campaign.

His bio also says that 'he pays especially close attention to... religion'. I read that to mean he's a atheist.

Reading the 2A in its REAL and total context requires reading the Declaration, too.

But maybe that Declaration is too challenging for the author.

Tell that to the Taliban. These comments prove only one thing: that the person making them has no conception of how to wage asymmetric warfare. The are tens of thousands of current and former U.S. soldiers who are experts at asymmetric warfare, and who would use the citizens arms as a good first start.

Great article Mike . Like many I am waiting for that Fort Sumpter moment when it all hits the fan .
Keep and eye on the eight Walmart stores closings last week . All the stores were have labor disputes over the minimum wage and all stores closed with " Plumbing Problems" When the Midland Texas City plumbing inspector showed up to expedite the repairs he was turned away . So far no plumbing permits have been sought by any store . Our nation get 67% of all our groceries from Walmart so if the closings spread this could get interesting fast.

The next Civil War will make Gettysburg look like a skirmish.I suppose I won't see the author in Indian country.

At the end of the article is a blurb about the author...and this tells us all we need to know about this POS

No, Mike. Let them have their illusions of inevitable tyranny. Those that are always talking the loudest about the superiority of arms of the State have never served a damn thing other than themselves any given day in their lives. Soon their hubris will get the better if them and they really try to pull something off. They will learn quickly how soft their bellies and hands are.

I, for one, always look for a PoliSci major when I need advice on a tactical decision.

I really love the "An AR-15 doesn't hold a candle to your local police force" line.

Tell that to the Hollywood Bank Robbers and Chris Dorner. The LAPD is the 2nd largest police force in the country, and they were absolutely paralyzed by first 4 guys with ARs, and then one guy with an AR.

I don't ever want him to understand the failure in strategic thinking he's making. Let him wrap the warm fuzzy blanket of self imposed leftard thinking around himself. When he and the machine he worships go full retard I want them all thinking like a checkers player while we are playing chess. Cognative dissonance is our friend. And his surprise.

Jon Green, EVERY human being has the right to rebel. Don't be stupid. This is the first time I've been to this blog. I notice your big "issues" are LGBT...blahblah..." and obamacare. I notice there are only two articles on obamacare, so I guess your main issue is homosexuality. All the things going on in the country and the world, and your main area of interest is what people do with their genitalia? Really? I bet you consider yourself enlightened...

This blog was established to discuss gay politics, but all subject matter affects us. Of course, you have the right to not read the blog."

I'm taking full advantage of ignoring a gay-anti-gun blog. Thanks.

What a clueless idiot. Apparently he doesn't realize we haven't really won a war since WWII....ever since 4GW really came into its heyday. You can't defeat those unwilling to bend the knee....as we just found out in IRQ and A-Stan.

I referred to the article's author and his like-minded comrades as "commies, tyrants, or useful idiots" and was blocked by a site moderator from posting further comments. So much for the institutional left's support for free speech...

Yoicks - the inane comments from the government monopoly of force crowd were 'interesting'. I've said it before, if little old me is such a threat to big gov't that they would even CONSIDER using tanks or planes or nukes (yes they say that!) on me, they should be afraid, REALLY afraid of just how out of control that gov't has gotten.

As far as the US Army is concerned - I'm very deep within the belly of that beast....they are not invincible.

Wal Mary store closings are a message sent.
Why is so large a market share purchased from them (groceries) EBT!!!!

Just think what happens when the trucks stop being free food into population centers. The liberal elite pricks can't order take out every night lololol. They will be surrounded by lunatics, pissed off free loaders that no longer get taken care of morning noon and night. Those freeshitarmy folks won't think twice about robbing those gunhating lefties....

I almost wish it would just happen - let's have it out and be done with it once and for all. But then, many innocents will die. Something has to give - the question is what is it and when does it happen.

You have to love this mindset, and the left's galactic failure of concrete operationalism. Let's take those *.mil capabilities, shall we? Iraq is about 169,000 sq mi., about the size of CA. Afganistan is about 252,000 sq mi., about the size of TX. Combine the *.mil operations in those two countries and you have the *.mil firepower concentrated in about 12% of the area of the US. Let's add the combined capability of the LEOs in there in and I'm willing to give them another 1% ability. Bring on 4GW and it's just not possible. It will be ugly, and once the urban entitlement zones are cut off from food and re-supply, it will look like the Walking Dead on steroids.

Or he's a Wannsee Conference aficiando; although probably with a different religion in mind this time.

There were only 2 North Hollywood bank robbers, not 4. There were 4 in the movie "Heat".

"Full might if the US military." Would anyone, anywhere, care to guess the number of the 'standing army' of wild-life hunters in the US??? I would venture a guess that it numbers in the millions, nationwide. Not just deer hunters but hunters of all persuasions. Patients is one of the many virtues of an American hunter which would make them a very formidable obstacle for ANY aggressive force. In the right hands, a .22 cal. is just as deadly as a .223 cal.!!

For a good news experience, read the comments to Jon Green's article, starting with the newest. It gives me faith that so many intelligent, Constitution loving people respectfully chimed in. If Mr. Green bothered to read them with an open mind (which I'm sure he didn't) he might have learned something.

God Bless America (and great America-loving Patriots)!

Yep. Blogs like this aren't about "learning" so much as "fixing" an idea in an audience as --Duh, That's Obvious--. Comments were effective and are shut off to further comment except for owner Last Words.
