Chris Christie sucks and will never get my vote. He's lived in NJ so long he believes in their draconian gun laws and has not done anything to get rid of them as Governor.
This LAWYER should already know that SCOTUS itself admitted the true fact that the free standing interest BALANCING approach cannot and does not apply to rights -especially and specifically regarding enumerated rights.
What he's doing there, while KNOWING this is simple, he's trying to hedge his own gun control history by waffling.
The thing is, he's as good a Governor of New Jersey as that state is likely to get. For New Jersey he's a flaming Right Wing Nut. Which shows how far down the Progressive/Left rabbit hole New Jersey has gone.
We've seen this before. New Jersey elects a nominally Republican Governor who tries to exercise a tiny bit of fiscal responsibility, and the National Establishment Republicans go NUTS over him … at least until the Establishment Left media decide he might actually be a threat to a Democrat, and then the bubble bursts.
Leave him in place. As Governor of New Jersey he is a better choice than any likely replacement. Anywhere else (well maybe not California) he would be a Nut Left Rhino.

Maybe he should physically jump on the scale containing 2nd amendment rights; that would certainly guarantee a fair showing weigh-in.
