Wonderful comments Claire. I think they are very fitting on the week of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide . Over 1.5 million Armenians lost their lives in horrible ways at the hands of their own government. In 1908 to 1911 there was Armenian gun confiscation to "Preserve the Peace". Once the Turkish soldiers were comfortable the last firearm was taken away in a village then the raping and pillaging began.
"Why do so many “pro-gun” mainstreamers choose not to see...?"
They didn't read the original bill/law? They couldn't imagine an American government might one day attempt the same thing? They're fat, dumb and complacent?
Wasn't the Senator Thomas Dodd, D-CT mentioned, the same person that when being censured by the Senate, carried a pistol in his pocket, with the intent of committing suicide with it on the Senate floor?
