Interesting background to Akin's political stupidity.

Akin appears to have picked up conclusions from 1972 article now hotly disputed.

When a GOP candidate for Congress cites to repudiated science, he is rightly labeled an ignorant crackpot. But when a global warming alarmist cites repudiated science as justificaiton for further govermental intrusion into individual liberty, it is "consensus."

The following exchange is from the movie "Religulous":

Bill Maher -- See, this is my problem, I'm trying - I mean, you're - you're a Senator. You are one of the very few people who are really running this country. It worries me that people are running my country who think - who believe in a talking snake. Um...

Mark Pryor: [Arkansas' Democratic Senator] -- You don't have to pass an IQ test to be in the Senate, though. [chuckles]

That pretty much ties our problem up in a nice bow, doesn't it?

My comment which I cannot post at TFA as I do not facebook...

"So...

A "regular guy" congressman received some bad information some years ago, on a topic well outside his expertise, that can be currently refuted by some hand-picked "Experts" who study little else and just happen to share his opponents' political leanings.

This somehow serves as indisputable proof that he and all other members or associates of his political party are Nazis and thus fit only for extermination or internment in "reeducation camps."

Gotcha.

Anybody here actually listen to the whole thing, in context?

Overall, I agree with his point - regardless of how it was conceived, only the Left could think the solution to a pregnancy resulting from rape is to rip the limbs and head off the innocent baby as it struggles to get away.

That'll teach 'em!

Meanwhile, where's all the outrage about the Minnesota Congressman just caught having rest-stop sex with a young boy?

Oops - I forgot - he's a democrat-party member, and we don't talk about the bad stuff THEY do, if they ever did any, which they don't...

Soooooo...

Where were we?

Oh, yeah - CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT EVIL NAZI REPUBLITARD?!

This whole issue smacks of the typical Chicago Political Machine type of actions like Obummer getting his Republican opponent for US Senate to drop out of the race because of some of his divorce info leaking out. Any Repub can be made to look like a fool & buffoon but a Dem can say anything and the media will make them look like the savior. Akin, tried-convicted-executed by the liberal media.
