Anybody know a good auto repair place in Hattiesburg, MS?

Looking for a place to get my daughter's 96 Buick Riviera water leak fixed (hose? radiator? water pump? Won't know until Monday what's up with it, but I doubt I'll be able to do the work unless it's something simple like a hose).

Wish I was closer. For you, sir, I'd charge my cost of parts, no labor. Least I can do for a fellow Threeper.

Let me know if you still need a mechanic in Hattiesburg, MS. I have family in Laural and I can email them and find someone for you.

A friend of mine has a sister who is in school there. Who knows, she might be classmates with your girl. Anyway, this is the name she gave my buddy. It's not exactly a ringing endorsement, but maybe they'll do you right.

Do any threepers know anything about this place?

That's close to my old stomping grounds. (Now just a couple of counties west of Winston County in MS.)

You might want to try Burkett Radiator Shop on West Pine Street. I've heard good things about them.

Thirty miles west of H'Burg in Columbia I've had good service from Mike's Auto Repair.

I would have a simple pressure test performed, as that should show you where the leak is coming from. It is quite possible that this might be done free, since it consists of simply removing the radiator cap, and then using the equipment to force pressure into the system.

A leak is usually a bad hose or clamp ..... or the water pump. If you find the water pump and run it up to temp it will leak ... a lot of times they are noisy also. Gotta keep the water full and let build up pressure and a good inspection will help.

If it has the 3.1 or 3.8 be sure to check for a bad intake gasket. They're known for that issue.

Has it been fixed yet or are you still looking?
