What ISIS Really Wants

The Islamic State is no mere collection of psychopaths. It is a religious group with carefully considered beliefs, among them that it is a key agent of the coming apocalypse.

Long but well worth the read if you want to understand ISIS.

Anonymous said...: The author of the well written piece was assisted by Reza Aslan, author of "Zealot" about the life of Jesus the man. His analysis is educated and, in my opinion, as unbiased as can be. The U.S. foreign policy would be greatly advanced if Reza Aslan was an adviser.

This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible.
