‘Prohibited persons’ qualifying as Obamacare ‘navigators’

Do you want to tell a stranger and a felon not only who you are, but also where you live, and then give them detailed descriptions of all the other family members who will be on your plan?

No thank you. When you call the DMV in my state, you have an option to have your question answered by an inmate in a correctional institution. Those folks are probably getting training as telephone service reps, but I always decline.

I recall the man who showed up to "follow up" on the 2010 census being completely mystified as to why I refused to tell him, specifically, the answers to the census questions. I had to explain to him that while I was confident that he was who he claimed to be (census employee), I didn't know him, and was unwilling to give such sensitive information to a total stranger. I told him this in my driveway, since I was unwilling to let him inside my home.

"Navigators" have even less chance with me. I'm mystified why anyone would answer any of these people. Perhaps my background as a software engineer makes me more sensitive to what can be done to a person in today's information-centric world if such information falls into the hands of the unscrupulous.
