"For gun enthusiasts here and across the country, the shortage is the worst they've ever seen."

I started prepping back when it wasn't cool and got laughed at for it. Dad was right, "Hope for the best, prep for the shitstorm."

Dear NSA, did you get that or should I type slower?

Obama promising to sign the Arms Trade Treaty later summer only helps to keep things at 'powder alarm' levels.

New anti-gun laws in some states as well as revelations about domestic spying also leaves many to adopt personal practices of buying more guns and ammo while they still can.

One thing that bothers me in the article is people still giving Dick's business.

Have we forgotten how they treated Troy Industries?

This is having International effects as many legitimate hunters and competition shooters in smaller countries source much of theit ammo and ammo components from the US. All good foreign exchange export earnings for the US economy!

US exports are drying up and sources from other European and Worldwide exporters is being sucked into the 'black hole' of the US insatiable demand. Primers, projectiles and powder are also in short supply everywhere as they pour into the US Imports surge.

No more Hornady projectiles expected till March 2014 down under!

Aussie ADI/Hodgdon powders harder to obtain and Brass getting scarce too.

Why would I want to stockpile US FRN's when I can get ammo? I don't have a multi-generational stockpile yet.

If I can't get ammo, and the cupboards are full, at least I should be able to buy some physical silver or gold, right? My objective is to have as much gold as I can carry in a backpack and as much silver as I can load in an F-350. Still plenty of capacity there.

All of these "shortages" (pronounced as "mis-valuations') ought to encourage a person to go get the stuff that is a great deal. Out-of-season clothing or wrong-place clothing (ECW winter-weight long underwear in S. Missouri) can be a great deal. Hit the local junk close out, or Goodwill "Bins" where they sell tonnage of everything for $0.59/pound regardless/as-is. Don't just lament the lack of ammo.

Cheers.

Looks like the Afghan gov't is a beneficiary of USFEDGOV's ammo buying spree: they're getting $$1 Billion worth of taxpayer-paid ammo. I rather doubt that a single round of the billions they're getting for free came from the DHS stockpile, so Issa had better add that to his list of questions to ask (not that he will get a straight answer why are we giving away that much ammo anyhow?) ...Maybe one of us should go over there, start buying it up cheap, and start smuggling it back into the USSA!

I for one intend to start offering what I make to interested 3%ers; just email me and let me know what caliber you want and how much. I don't ship and I only take cash, BTW, because this is strictly a private affair and I intend to keep the 'interstate' out of anything I do that can be construed as 'commerce'.

For the foreseeable future, I have a steady supply chain for all my components, and NO, I am not divulging my suppliers (or the wholesale prices).

I forgot to source that article about the $1 billion worth of ammo going to Hadjiland.
